picked up some acrylic paint pens on amazon. the gold flake water based stuff turned out amazing.

I tried some oil based stuff on another rifle and it didn't work out at all, maybe it needed to dry more, not sure.

i love adding little details to my rifles and this turned out awesome. will have some other stuff cerakoted gold, but will do that over the winter.

FYI the trigger was already gold, was a limited run or something from triggertech

I like it, the gold on black looks good. Tell me about how you applied it? Are the pens that fine to work in that small of detail?
just traced it the best i could, without getting too much excess outside the engraving. let it sit for like 2 minutes or so and went over top of it gently with a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol.

i'd definitely recommend the 0.7mm tip, the other ones i had were bigger and got wayyyy too much excess.

here is a link to the gold ones i used on amazon

You should try "finger nail polish". Comes in some "wild colors" and some of it's not TOO expensive. Did the fluted bolt bodies on all of my Savage rifles. Paint it on, let it dry and if you don't like "nail polish remover" will take it off. When barrel cleaning you need remove or keep the bolt bodies covered or the paint will come off. Pretty tough stuff. ;)

i was a little afraid to go that route just because of not knowing how acetone would affect different materials upon removal. will definitely be doing some more experimenting in the future.
