Titegroup. Meters well, low "ejecta" (unburned crap out the front), inexpensive. After all, you'll be practising with it.I have accurate #5 ,titegroup and unique want the best powder for a self defense load 230 grain hollow point recommendations please
Precisely! If you have to draw your gun, in a self-defense situation, then to be justified you have to fire it. As a concealed carry holder, your first obligation is to diffuse and retreat, otherwise you are brandishing a firearm. If the threat to you is such, that you fear great bodily harm, e.g. broken bone, then you have a right to fire. In a situation like that, I wouldn't care what ammunition was in my gun.
Yep, better to be judged by 12I do live in the evil state California but I will protect my wife, dogs and anyone else in my house.
I have seen and read and heard, EXPERTS! Guys in the job, etc etc sayJWV2001 I too wish that here was some in between that would allow me to change my mind, without being guilty of brandishing my gun. I sure don't want someone sticking a gun in my face every time I go to the hardware store. But using a firearm to deescalate the situation would seem better than knowing if I pull it I need to shoot it. Some of you smart guys should figure this out!

The only "dud" 45ACP load I have ever had out of multiple thousands fired was a factory Federal. One reason, I would only use handloads is that when ever I go to the range where people practice, I always pick up duds. These are factory rounds. I don't have misfires with my handloads. I don't need to practice clearing my gun.
I'm really sorry I got dragged down this self-defense rabbit hole, by post #2. The OP asked about the best powder for 45 ACP with a 230 gr. bullet. Period
I wonder if one could sue the DA for making us use Factory loads when there isThe only "dud" 45ACP load I have ever had out of multiple thousands fired was a factory Federal.
