Too little grains

Ive been loading a while now "5" years ive loaded about 50 45acp bullets with a new powder accurate #5 I was loadind 230 grain lead bullets 7.7 to 8.0 grains of powder, I then loaded some new bullets hollow base jacketed bullets it ask for 8.2 to 9.7 grains of accurate 5 I kept loading 7.7 to 8.0 grains of powder .any concerns?need to know if ill have any problems
Thanks

Might not be enough pressure to cycle your slide (assuming semi-auto), or might stick a bullet (worst case) but as long as it's below book it shouldn't cause issues.
Having said that...there is a reason loading manuals show a minimum and maximum charge for specific weights and bullets.

Do you mean "hollow point" rather than "hollow base"?

Do you have access to published reloading data for the bullet you are using?

Nosler lists 7.5 to 8.5 for their 230 full metal jacket bullets. (Ref: 5th Edition)

Speer lists 8.1 to 9.0 for their 225 jacket hollow point bullets. (Ref: 13th Edition)

Speer lists 7.0 to 7.8 for their 230 Gold Metal jacketed bullets.

As the disparity above shows, whenever possible, use the bullet mfg.'s published tested data. You have to be caution with hollow base bullets because of the tendency of the base to expand under pressure. Therefore, you should use the bullet mfg.'s data. However, I am not aware of any 45 ACP bullets that are hollow base. Even the lead target bullets I have used and are aware of are all flat base.

I have recently run into a few (non-bullseye) shooters who are using hollow-base 45 ACP bullets. Not sure where they're getting them. Given the low max pressure for 45ACP, I can't see having a problem with overdriving the bullet and leaving the skirt behind (which can be a problem with soft lead HBWC's in 38 Spl.)

That's interesting - I have never seen them or knew they existed for the 45 ACP.

The problem with swaged lead 38 HBWC. can be pressure is loaded beyond target velocity plus severe lead fouling. The hollow base expands to provide and exact fill to lands and grooves which what makes them so accurate.

Hollow base, full metal jacket 45acp bullet have been around
forever. You can run into a pressure problem with a light load
and fast powders with them The hollow base gives the effect
of too much space. I found that out with 452AA. My 18lb spring
was a bit too light.

Thanks I got my answers,on the berrys hollow base bullets have a thick skirt I'll load the same grains about on the lower end.

I found Berry's copper plated bullets take the same charge weight as Jacketed bullets of the same weight.

Only thing that matters is bullet length and COAL.

I look for 3 to 4 o'clock ejection.

4 o'clock on a clean barrel and 3 o'clock ejection on a very dirty fouled barrel.

I had some 220 grain .30 caliber, cast bullets I wanted to try in my .300 Blackout. I went a grain under the minimum listed and found that even at the full minimum it wouldn't cycle my AR.

Different gas port size, location, buffer weights and springs all come in to play. Yours just might need a bit more oomph.
