Best Kinetic Bullet Puller

I realize a lot of you will say there is not a good Kinetic puller.Many years ago, I had a RCBS puller. It lasted a very long time. Pulled many bullets. It finally broke. I purchased a replacement but it just broke. Actually, I do not know why they do not self destruct.

So, if you have a good one, please share.

I have tried most and really see no difference among them. All have crappy holders (easier to just use the correct shellholder instead) but manage to do the job. After spending hours trying to pull 25-grain .17 Remington bullets with notably poor success. I switched to RCBS collet style pullers and never looked back. Kinetic work great for handgun cartridges with bullets of reasonable weight. That weight pops the bullet out with a lot less effort than the (mostly) lighter rifle bullets.

RCBS. Tried two others but they didn't work. But I still hate pulling bullets...

Whichever lasted the longest over 40 years. Rubber bands for collets are the most difficult item to replace.

They all break. Buy two cheap ones so you have a spare. I am using both a Dillon and a Frankford Arsenal now. Both are fine.

I use a short piece of railroad track.

Aluminum handle ones. Mine is blue.
Probably from Amazon.
I've got the same one I've used for 15 yrs.
I hit it on concrete.
But I've not pulled many factory loads, only reloads.

I have had a "Guns" model that is almost 60 years old. Never looked like breaking so FWIW, it might be an idea to find out what it is made of.
It being so old, I realize that that might be a wild goose chase.
p.s. not even the tinny case holders broke but their plasic "holder" wore, and required tape to be wrapped around the opening for the case.

I have a Frankford Arsenal, or at least I think that’s what it is, blue plastic. I beat it on the concrete floor. If I have to pull more than one or two rounds I break out the RCBS collet style puller and go to town. My first inertia puller broke probably 30 years ago and I don’t remember what brand it was.

The Lyman tool is the best I've found. The handle is aluminum. It doesn't flex nearly as much as the plastic ones and does a much better job of removing a bullet.

I have Cabella's plastic cheapo I've used for so many years I lost track. However, I do not pull very many bullets, and I can't remember the last time I did. When I did, they came out easily with just a few taps on a steel plate. Wood never worked for me; too many impacts needed. Also grip the handle at the end for maximum leverage.

I would not try to pull factory or crimped bullets with a Kinetic puller.

I just broke a Frankford. Plastic handle broke at the grip.. I do have a Hornady collet but did not have a collet in .25 caliber.If you take the time to adjust them properly, it will leave a very slight mark.

The new Frankford Arsenal wall mount thing is expensive and complex, but works faster and easier than the hammer type kinetic pullers. I don't know about longevity of it though. I use the hammer thing for single cases and the FA Pile Driver for longer runs (I was given about 4-500 .357 Mag cartridges that were loaded too light to be reliable. That's 4-500 new primed Norma cases, and the same number of plinking bullets, once I get them torn down.)

One peeve of mine regarding bullet pullers: Why do they always make them out of colored polycarbonate? Green, red, blue, smoked; they all make it harder to see if the bullet has pulled or is still hanging onto the brass.

I think you make a good point. I have a very old RCBS kenetic puller. I happen to have a 4X4 sitting in the room that's used for various situations. I've always used the end to tap agains't and I don't try to see how hard I can hit it. I did have to get replacement bands for it a few years back.

the latest RCBS is what I have now ,,,,I have broke one and one had the aluminum handle bend!!!!,,,use a shell holder to hold the case in the puller rather than the collet gripper ,,,,put a little piece of 1/4 " rubber in the bottom of the cavity ,,,Roger
