Best Credit Card?

Fidelity (brokerage) Visa. They give a straight 2% back on everything, with no special categories to track, etc. I've been hacked twice and they made it good both times.

So out of curiosity, what do you guys do when you need to make a hotel or airline reservation, rent a car, or buy something from a business that you aren’t standing inside of?

Debit card with a Visa logo on it...;)

I was wondering the same . I had to use a CREDIT CARD to ship a gun at the UPS hub, they would NOT accept cash . I showed up to my motel in Staten Island a while back, they wanted CREDIT CARD only. I am about as self-sufficient as they come but I am not so naive to think a card is not necessary in the world we live in . I grow/make everything I can to survive without any outside help . I go without a lot of fancy stuff because I choose to live like this...but somethings I just can't pull off...like making primers, powder, brass, etc. . Credit card gets those to my door without much sacrifice...just have to pay the card off in full every month.

To me a "shooter friendly" card is the one that provides the biggest financial return combined with lowest fees and interest charges. More money to buy powder, bullets and barrels.

Citibank, like BOA, has adopted policies that attempt to disrupt normal and completely legal business transactions for firearm related businesses.
However they can't deny transactions for users in good standing so I use a Citibank MC primarily for firearm related purchases. Citibank, like most major cards has what they term virtual account numbers. These are card numbers that can be given out for online purchases that are one time use only. If anyone hacks them, they are unless after they have been used.

I agree that credit cards are a bad financial idea but charge cards are one of the best financial inventions ever. One can charge almost anything now down to a candy bar at the 7 eleven, one itemized bill comes and it is paid off - usually by a secure online transfer, once a month. Works very well with zero cost to you if you pay the balance each months.

Another good thing are those 18+ months no interest deals card companies have. These work great for larger purchases and amount to interest free loans for a year and a half or longer. Get them, divide the amount spent up into monthly payments and pay it off before the interest free balance offer expires. Then cancel them.

Good Rodney Dangerfield joke: Someone swiped my wife's credit cards, but I didn't report it, because they used them less than she did.

picked up a delta am-ex card earlier this year- will be flying for free down to the FL state F class shoot on free miles that they gave me for signing up!
first bag free too!

I've been using the Cabelas card for about 10 years now. I buy most everything on it (gas, Groceries, Bills and anything else) and pay it off each month. I spend enough to be a "Signature black" card holder that way and rack up hundreds of dollars in points each year. My wife really likes their home decor products so Christmas for her and I are covered every year for pretty much free. Hopefully, the change over to the Capital One backed master card works as well.

Many car rental places will not rent out vehicles without a credit card. That can be a problem if you need to rent a car.
I hear what you are saying but if you pay in full every statement, there are advantages.

I have yet to encounter a single business that will not take a debit card if they also take credit cards. You can run any debit card as a credit purchase.
