Best Credit Card?

Around 20 years ago I signed up on the spot at Bass Pro to get their credit card in order to get a nice discount on a Tikka, and store points going forward. Now Bank of America is dropping this partnership and wants to replace with their generic card. And its becoming a pain to use because charges at places I have used the card forever are declined, and I have to call in to authorize. So I'm ready to replace with a shooter friendly card that has decent rewards. Don't care about interest rate because I pay off every month. Any suggestions?

I haven’t dug into their politics (maybe I should) but I use a MasterCard issued by Kroger. I don’t know about interest because it’s always paid off. The advantages are pretty nice gasoline discounts based on what grocery and pharmacy purchases go on the card. That plus the periodic cash-back on grocery purchases. I’m buying groceries, meds, and gasoline anyway. Might as well save some cash doing so.
The wife has an American Airlines Visa so we can get occasional discounts on flights we’re making anyway.
I’m sure other corporations/banks have deals, depending on what you value.

check around, I have had several that offer bonus checks back if you charge x amount in a certain period of time. the one I am using right now has a refund (in the form of a check) of 1,000$ if you charge 5k in the first 90 days. you can use the card to pay a house note or most anything. good luck.o_O

CITI... this mastercard gives me 2% cash back on ALL purchases. I've made over 2000 bucks just on that percentage alone.... but you have to pay off the bill each month to get the 2 percent... if not... then you only get 1 percent.

The search is for a shooter friendly card.

If one does a lot of traveling, the best are those that accrue miles to be used for airfare. Ideally used for international travel, they can still save money for domestic flights. Example: Washington D.C. to Johannesburg, South Africa, round trip, $52.00 and CC miles.

+1 on the cabelCab visa, been with them since they started but got a letter this week saying that they would be becoming master card in October.....

That is silly... they can be your best friend... when you use it correctly by paying off the entire bill when it comes due.

Yep! They can be your best friend or your worst enemy. The "luck" gene isn't in my family genetics, so I steer clear of corporate debt. Just keep in mind that those accrued miles and 5% paybacks on purchases cost you more than you gain. Retailers pay a fee every time you use credit cards, and they increase the prices on goods to compensate for those fees. If the credit card companies are offering kickbacks, then you can be sure that everyone is paying for it at the register. Corporate America is very good at making you think you are getting a great deal. It's the reason there is so much debt in this country. Not judging anyone . . . just saying that I would prefer a self-sufficient lifestyle with zero corporate influence.

Do you live without ZERO corporate influence ?

In today's world, even if you live off the grid, you are still living a corporation run existence. Seed companies? Corporations. Medicines, prescription or over the counter? Corporations. Clothing? Corporations. Food? Corporations. Privacy? Doesn't exist. Corporations own it all. Can't be escaped, credit card or no credit card.
