Credit Card Breach

Set up and use two factor authentication for your bank/investment accounts. Last year my card was used in Kuwait City for close to $22K. As the same time, someone was trying to enter my account using a San Diego number routed through Seattle. They couldn't get by the authentication which triggered the alert at the bank. The fraud control department told me I was doing all I could to prevent this type of occurrence. As others do, I log out of all sites I purchase from and don't leave CC info on sites.

A couple years ago I was standing in a field having just shot my first deer and my phone rings. It's my bank and the caller wants to know if I am calling them to get emergency funds of $900. They say who ever it is, they know my name, address, DOB and SSA#, credit card and CCV#. Back in 2009 when I was getting unemployment checks the county I live in published all my identity information online. I'm surprised I don't have more issues like that.

I do remember a few years back, getting a call from the CC Company asking if it was me that ordered a Model Airplane Kit for $200.00 from England? You bet it was!!. One of the better kits on the market.
That's the only other issue I've had with any of my CC. The CC Companies seem to be getting better at taking care of the fraud issue.;)

I have an account at Grafs. So I went there just now. I do not see a way or control option to view anything about my CC. ?? I know they have it. I can call them but thought I would check here first.

Incidents of hacking will continue to be more prevalent because of the amount of transactions taking place online. There is only so much you can do to try to put it off but eventually we will all be a victim because of the criminals and their expertise.

I've been hacked twice while working out of state this last year, once by the Murphy's gas station attached to Walmart and once by a supplier up in Canada. I just quit using that gas station to solve that problem and I was notified by my card company about the Canadian incident. They handled that one instantly. The criminals in Canada were caught and are being prosecuted.

Both times the cards were cancelled and replaced which is a PIA because of the wait. I also now let my card company know when I travel and where I'll be as a heads up. They appreciate that since I'm often several states away from home.

Ordered two a&d fx120i's yesterday and within seconds of hitting the "place order button". I got a text from the credit card company asking to verify the purchase. Was quite happy with that.

Graf & Sons has always been concerned about our customers safety and security. That is why we do not keep your credit card information with our website data or in our in-house database. It disappears from our records when you complete the e-commerce portion of your transaction.

Our website was recently the subject of a malicious code attack by unknown third parties. This was discovered on January 29, 2019 and security was restored within 1 day. As part of the research, it appears that this attack occurred on January 19, 2019. It appears that some customer files were affected and the malicious code captured certain credit card transactions from the e-commerce portion of the website. Customers that have possibly been affected have been notified by us. Because we do not retain credit card information, the attack was designed to capture the customer's first and last names, email address, mailing address and credit card information, including the credit card number, the expiration date, and the CVV code as the customer was entering their information.

We have implemented additional security measures designed to prevent a recurrence of such an incident and to protect the privacy of our valued customers and to prevent further unauthorized access. We are working closely with the applicable governmental officials to ensure the incident is properly addressed. We have reported this event to the FBI.

Thank you,

So this only affects transactions that occurred between 01/19/2019 and 01/30/2019?

@oldduc
Yes, only affects online orders from 1/19/2019 through 1/29/2019. If you received a letter in the mail from us, then you were possibly an affected person.

Thank you,

Thank you Graf and Sons Team

Thank you for taking care of us and the situation as best as possible. I cannot imagine the struggle your, and other companies must have trying to have an online presence in this day in age. When some of these people do this for "fun", and ultimately payment.

Last year in September I was working on a mechanical gate changing the slats with versatex slats so when the cows lean on them they bend and don't break. I am on a ranch in Florida and miles from nowhere with only occasional cell service. I get a call and the CC lady wants to know if I am in Dallas, Ft Worth buy wrinkle cream. All I could say was "Really???".

I am not saying that wrinkle cream might not help!
Even if you don't use it yourself, it makes a thoughtful gift for that special gal in your life, especially if you've only recently started dating. Let us know how that works out.

Used my Company CC to get gas last Friday. On Sunday, I received an email asking if I had tried to purchase gas at a ZMart in Las Vegas. Emailed them 'no' and got a call from them. Waiting on my new CC. Old one went in the shredder.
This is the 2nd time in 10 years my Company card was hit. Last time was paying for a meal at a regional meeting in Jacksonville, Fl. I got an email notification when I got home that I'd had a charge of $192.xx charged in a Staten Island Sears and another $72.xx charged at another shop on Long Island. Nope, not mine. I spent that week having to call them each time I needed to use it. When I gassed up the last time that week and was done using it, they cancelled the card and overnighted a replacement.
As to Graf's. I'll be ordering from them again, letter or no.

Zmart sorta sounds like the convenience store in Vegas where mine was used. No idea how they got my number.

In Dubois, WY, I was getting gas and saw a cheaper price up the street so I paid and went to use the card up the street. They froze it in jig time so I had to top off and pay with a different card and then go call to unfreeze it.
In Rawlins I was filling up and the attendant tried 2 or 3 times to run it though so I used another card. By the time I got back to my vehicle, the first CC company was calling. Can be a PITA, but I'm glad that they're looking out for me.
