I tried M-Pro 7 Copper Remover, Hoppe's ammonia base cleaner, it turned my rod/brush blue but didn't dissolve it. The KG-12 darken it and some wire fell off. It's a different level of destroy I'm talking about.All copper removers destroy brushes?
Agreed. I might not have explained it well but what I was getting at was that while the Bore Tech Copper Remover is very effective I can not say the same for Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover at removing carbon.Honestly I keep seeing these threads over and over and over again and I've tested all of the products and none of them work as well as the Boretech. Every single one of the other products that was recommended if followed up by Boretech Will show blue.

I'm about set on the idea that most anything will remove loose carbon and fouling but for the stubborn stuff in the neck and the black streaks in the bore you're going to need JB, Losso or a similar abrasive.
Those without a borescope will have no idea what this refers to.
Brushes are cheap. Toss 'em after a few uses unless you're going to wrap a patch around them and use an abrasive.All copper removers destroy brushes?
Could be, all I've tried is the copper solvent and C4. I've tried a bunch of other products that claim to remove carbon but none have worked for me. I'll stick to JB for carbon until something changes my mind.The copper remover is just half of the Boretech eliminator. I called and asked the manufacturer and they said that the same product is in eliminator. It seems redundant to buy two products when the one product does both exactly the same.

@urbanrifleman
Have you tried Montana Xtreme Copper Killer? It's worked to best for me out of several products I've tried for both copper and carbon.
It's the only thing that's kept a carbon ring out of my barrel since it appeared. I was using Boretech before. I don't remember the model, but it was the one intended to remove carbon fouling.
The reason for the seperate cleaners is some guys, especially rimfire, like to only remove the carbon and not the lead or copper so its quicker to get fouled inThe copper remover is just half of the Boretech eliminator. I kind of like the way it smells.I think that stuff is dangerous. Even if it was 5 percent better (which I don't think it is), the utterly poisonous ammonia fumes wouldn't be worth any minor improvement.

I haven't heard of anyone dying from a gun cleaning product before. I'd really like to hear more about how he died. I'll send them an email and see if I can get any info.I heard the guy that used to be the original owner is dead from that stuff.

I definitely wouldn't try that with the Copper Remover that I have. It has a definite strong ammonia smell. I haven’t found anything yet that will remove copper that doesn't reek of ammonia but it might be out there somewhere. The C4 Carbon Remover has very little odor and looks clear as water but as I stated previously, I can't tell that it does anything, on copper or carbon either. If you spit on a patch and swabbed it I doubt you'd see any difference between it and the C4.Ammonia is bad. Mkay?
I think you could literally drink Boretech.
