A copper remover test

Honestly I keep seeing these threads over and over and over again and I've tested all of the products and none of them work as well as the Boretech. Every single one of the other products that was recommended if followed up by Boretech Will show blue.
"tested all of the products", I'm pretty sure you haven't tested the kg-12. Check out some videos

Agreed. I might not have explained it well but what I was getting at was that while the Bore Tech Copper Remover is very effective I can not say the same for Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover at removing carbon.

I'm about set on the idea that most anything will remove loose carbon and fouling but for the stubborn stuff in the neck and the black streaks in the bore you're going to need JB, Losso or a similar abrasive.

Those without a borescope will have no idea what this refers to.

The copper remover is just half of the Boretech eliminator. I called and asked the manufacturer and they said that the same product is in eliminator. It seems redundant to buy two products when the one product does both exactly the same.

All copper removers destroy brushes?
Brushes are cheap. Toss 'em after a few uses unless you're going to wrap a patch around them and use an abrasive.

If you just can't stand to do that after using copper solvent rinse them in electrical wash, alcohol, acetone or some other solvent. Don't wait, rinse the brush as soon as you're done with it.

Could be, all I've tried is the copper solvent and C4. I've tried a bunch of other products that claim to remove carbon but none have worked for me. I'll stick to JB for carbon until something changes my mind.

The C4 doesn't do squat in my barrels.

I agree with this statement except for KG -12. When I received my teslong bore scope, ordered over $200 in different cleaning products to try on various barrels. KG-12 was by far the best at removing copper in my barrels. With that said, I don’t need to use KG-12 as part of my regular cleaning regimen, but I do use Boretech Eliminator.

@urbanrifleman
Have you tried Montana Xtreme Copper Killer? It's worked to best for me out of several products I've tried for both copper and carbon.

It's the only thing that's kept a carbon ring out of my barrel since it appeared. I was using Boretech before. I don't remember the model, but it was the one intended to remove carbon fouling.

ETA, it was Boretech C4 carbon remover and it did not prevent or remove carbon rings.

I think that stuff is dangerous. Even if it was 5 percent better (which I don't think it is), the utterly poisonous ammonia fumes wouldn't be worth any minor improvement.

The reason for the seperate cleaners is some guys, especially rimfire, like to only remove the carbon and not the lead or copper so its quicker to get fouled in

Lots of cases of lung damage and cancers from inhaled fumes and skin absorption from a lot of chemicals.
I wear nitrile gloves and work in a ventilated area whenever I can. Might not be necessary but it sure can't hurt.

I've no idea who created the solvent or if exposure to the ingredients caused his demise. Just mentioning standard safety practices.
