6BR-AI With BRDX Reamer

Tim / Gabe,

What are your thought on the reduced neck length of doing it this way versus with a full BR length neck? Obviously it's performing well. If you were to start over, would you still go with the BRDX neck length?

Thanks,
Terry
I saw my first BR-AI in the hands of a shooter here in Memphis, and my first thought was that looks wierd. It was just out of using what I had on hand using the BRDX reamer. I feel it is purely cosmetic and just a personal choice. I think the case is more appealing to look at/work with with less neck length.

I ordered a new reamer with a 1.540" chamber length, so yes I would do it again.

Wouldn't want to change mine !! not sure why would want a longer neck..??.. as the free bore for the Berger Hybrids keeps it out of the neck junction, of coarse not sure everybody shoots the heavys. I'll be loading up with Sierra' s new one for awhile....

If you have any information on sierras new 110 I would like to hear. Out here in Idaho 4 of us benchrest shooters are working on loads for this bullet. Today was the best any of us has been able to get it to group really good at 600 yards. Today was a group of us having some fun here on my personal range. My group of 5 shots was 1.8 inches. With varget powder 33.5 grains jump 030.
It looks like maybe we will do some more testing. Shot this in one of my dashers with a brand new barrel with 150 rounds down the barrel. If you have any information to share I would sure like to hear. 80 years young so I need to learn alot. Bob

Sounds like great fun, I will be buying more of them. I haven't bee able to get out to distance yet. I've loaded up some and seated them long, only to find .008" to be the spot instead of .020". with the shorter bearing surface they do stick more out of the case.
Dasher testing will be next. I have a new Brux waiting to be tested....

I cannot add to the others experiences right now. I have recently chambered myself a barrel, and have 100 fireform loads through it. Ready for the testing to begin. Its a 8.3 twist, so none of the new sexy bullets to be tested, just 105 VLD and 108 Target. My 2 newest barrels are both 7 1/2 twist, one a 31" straight 1.250 Brux, and the other a 29" HV Krieger. I chambered those in the TAC40. Brian Bowling shoots my case and is a real student/now teacher to the sport. He is opening my eyes in many ways, reaching the upper nodes with great success. I have not been shooting near like I used to, I have seen areas not considered in the IBS matches that makes me not want to shoot competitively any longer. One day I will maybe move rural and have a place to shoot outside my garage.
If I were you and didn`t like to fireform, and I owned a placed called the DASHER DOME, I`d be calling Bullets.com and ordering 500 pieces of his new Dasher brass. Either trim it to old 1.550" OAL, or have one of the Norma Dasher reamers run in to lengthen the chamber OAL to 1.605"
I honestly think running the 6BR-AI case to Dasher speeds is not going to be the best idea in the long run. Even on the slow node of 2980.
