I've been working with four powders , stick and ball, two bullets and seating depths. Out of frustration I grabbed the bottle of Varget set aside until next spring.....Bingo with the 123 Hornady's in my Predator. That's very true. When I was working actively with mine it always seemed starved for a few more grains of powder. Always a little out of reach. Do yourself a favor and get the Lapua or Alexander Arms (rebranded Lapua) brass. I started off with Hornady and the primer pockets got loose after a few reloading cycles. IIRC, Alexander Arms has a sale every year on their brass around Christmas. Ball powders at the time, produced the best velocities, but I'm not into ball powders. A few powders regularly enjoyed these days, were not out yet, so I'm sure the bar has lifted.

I was planning on using my Chronograph but I forgot to turn it off the last time I used it,,,,,dead battery. So no I didn't get the speed but loaded to about the middle of the case shoulder wall. My load is over suggested maximum, and did not exhibit any excessive pressure signs in my bolt gun.Did you chrono that load? I'm using AA Barnes factory ammo now, but will hand load once i shoot through it. I've heard that Varget is really slow in the Grendel.
DANG NICE THAT IS THAT STOCK IS OUTSTANDINGBuilt this one for a deer or hog stalking rifle. Cheap Lee dies, 3x9 old Red field, AR Comp and Barnes 100 TTSX it has shot 1 1/4 at 300 yards. Go figure.

Have you got any more pictures of that stock to share? That thing looks gorgeous! Did you make it?Built this one for a deer or hog stalking rifle. Cheap Lee dies, 3x9 old Red field, AR Comp and Barnes 100 TTSX it has shot 1 1/4 at 300 yards. Go figure.
Yes, I made it. Got a couple dozen or so pics. It changes according to amount of sunlight. Thanks for looking.Have you got any more pictures of that stock to share? That thing looks gorgeous! Did you make it?
I also built a 20 PPC with a Howa Mini that that was purchased with a 6.5 Grendel barrel. aftermarket parts for the Mini are starting to take off because they are such great little actions. I like them a lot better than the CZ. Nice having more aftermarket options on the Mini. CZ doesn’t really have anything.
I’ve installed the DIP aluminum bottom metal, DIP aluminum magazine base plate, custom trigger spring kit, picatinny rail, Boyd’s stock, custom barrel, and fully bedded the rifle. They also make aftermarket aluminum 700 style floor plates for the Mini if you wanna go that route.
Curious about the 20PPC. I hear various input. Any gains over the 204 or 20P?
