2014 NRA F-Class Mid-Range Nationals At Camp Perry

Gold $$ Contributor
2014 NRA F-Class Mid-Range National Championships are set for July 25-29, 2014 at Camp Perry.

The 2014 NRA F-Class Mid-Range National Championships at Camp Perry will begin on July 25, 2014 with Team Day (4-person teams), followed by four days of individual competition.

July 26th, 27th,28th & 29th will be the Individual F-Class Mid-Range National Championships. On each of these four days competitors will shoot 300,500 & 600 yard stages (20 record rounds per stage).

A schedule of class and category awards is being finalized now. I am told that NRA Competitions Division hopes to be able to open on-line registration by February 1st. I am also told that they have repaired the computer glitches from last year and that they are attempting to complete all of the suggestions that came out of the Competitors' Meetings.

Will post more when I know more. NRA High Power Committee meeting set for the end of the month, should know more after that.

Is this really 80 rounds spread out over 4 days, or are there going to be multiple matches on each day? ???

Likely 60 rounds/day(20@300, 20@500, 20@600) for 4 days or 240 total. At least I hope so.

It is 20 rounds per yard line, i.e., 20 record rounds at 300, 20 record rounds at 500 & 20 record rounds at 600 - a total of 60 record rounds per day for each of the individual days

Sorry I didn't make that more clear - thanks for asking for clarification

That sounds much better. ;D I will try to make it. I shot the LR F-Class there last year and would love to make it back to Camp Perry.

I hear that F-Class Long Range at Camp Perry should be better in 2014 too. As soon as I hear something definite I will post that as well.

Hope to see you at Perry.

I have never shot at perry but have always wanted to. At Raton we (team) decided it was our best bet for location for all of us. I believe it will be a big year for fclass there.

Nando,

Good question:
Yes, F-Open and F/TR will be shooting on the same range, shooting the same courses of fire, under the same conditions and at the same time.

Hopefully they learned from this yr and won't tie the team match to the individual scores. (I know they changed it but the change was never officially announced that I saw)

I'm hoping to make this one.

The individual and team matchs were not tied together this year. The matches were ran in a very smooth manner, and very well ran. You shoot 3-20 rounds strings each day, for 4 days, plus the team match. Two of the days you will shoot 300, 500, and 600. The other two days you will shoot 3 strings each day at 600 yards. F-open and F-TR shot side by side.

This is a must attend match on my schedule! Thanks to LMT, Berger and sponsors this past year. Winner of each class this past year were awarded with $4500+ in cash and prizes thanks to great sponsors. I challenge you to find better prizes/payout in any other Mid/LR event!!! Top it all off, getting to put the trigger and fire on such a historical range, and compete were the best have fired shots over the past 100 years is award enough in itself for me.

Falcon Pilot,

The format will be a little different in 2014 -

Team Day will be the first day. Then four days of individuals, each day will be the same - 20 rounds at 300, 20 rounds at 500 and 20 rounds at 600.

Sounds like you had a good time in 2013. Also sounds like 2014 will be even better.
I think they learned a lot, listened to the competitors and are trying to make it even better.

Great! Thanks.

Now all I have to do is to talk Pete & Ryan & Mike (*) into sharing their shooting secrets with me, and I'll be ready for Camp Perry ;).

Nando

(*) The truth is that they and several others already have been very helpful to me the past couple of months, and I really appreciate it.

No problem Alex, shooting is for All ages and never too late to start. If you want to compete we will give you full support. I think we are going in numbers to perry this year and would be glad to have you along.

Nando,

Glad to help - will pass on more info when ( and if) I learn more.

Hope to see you and your friends there.

Why would the program be 20x300, 20x500 and 20x600yds when the NRA does not recognize an aggregate record for that category?

The NRA only recognizes 20x300, 20x500 and 20x600 individually at each distance and only an aggregate of 15x300, 15x500 and 15x600yds.
