What's the dumbest thing you've done today?

Fired up the lathe and wondered what that rattling vibration was. Here's the answer - when you leave a cleaning rod in the muzzle and run it at 1000 RPM, it tends to flip it around and bend it! Now you're asking, "What the heck was he doing with the rod in there in the first place?". This is for my Palma gun and was throated for 185s, so I'm shortening the breech and rechambering for 155s. I had run in a Stony Point gauge to see how much I needed to cut off and had to knock the bullet out. If I drank, this would be an appropriate time!

Getting fuel at a specific Speedway in Tucson. Used to be my favorite vendor. Now I rank them among the Circle Jerk stores. Two of three fuel choices are out, 50% of the time no receipts at the pump and dimwitted employees in the store when you finally get a chance to ask for a receipt.

Speedway is a lot like MacDonalds, anything but speedy, IMO. Cleaning rod Dude has me beat buy a mile. I feel better.

When that happens I take a picture of the pump then write a receipt later. Now if I can just get them to stop playing commercials on the pumps it will be good.

Moving some oily steel tubing I put some cotton gloves on. Finished that job and went to wash something in the parts washer. Brain said gloves are on (dumb brain was thinking latex gloves) and proceeded to put the part under the solvent stream. Uh oh! Wet soaked cotton gloves and fingers :)

I get free Speedway cards for gas from work each month, like $100.00, so I kind of have to use them, but I am not keen on them. Restrooms in many of them look like rejects from an old mechanic's shop, basically real dumps. The cards I get are brand new, never been used and Speedway pump readers perpetually have read errors on them anywhere from a lot of the time to most of the time.

Don't think they will warranty that.
