Bear creek bolt action AR

I wonder how much the carrier wobbles being cut off at the rear.
Sort of like piston skirts on a engine?
For the bolt with no gas rings isn't the clearance on the bolt tail sets "wobble" and the gas rings conform to the bore? They are compressed but not bottomed out. Wouldn't that let the bolt move in the gas rings (up to the clearance of the tail in the carrier?

Comparing the Receiver cutouts on a Left Side Gen2 to the BOLT receiver you can see that the front cutout leaves more metal near the front of the heavy wall on the BOLT model, due to lost metal for the handle cutout.

Guess it will be a while before you can buy receivers and carriers.

The bolt spring is a necessity. Bolt (with no rings :) ) can't be left to slide fore and aft in the carrier slot.
With the spring the bolt will start off with NO pin protrusion. The pin is given more travel not from cam action but the spring compressing.
With little to no Primary Extraction-NO GAS- both models just rotate the bolt until the lugs clear.

Would be nice to have a detailed analysis of any "failsafe" features of the new model.
Like an AD potential, better or worse?

I've purchased three barrels from them, two were junk. One of those was 450 Bushmaster, the barrel extension was installed crooked.
While their prices are attractive, it's not worth the hassle and headache.

Someone asked about buffer/spring in lower.
If you are SURE you wont EVER stick a gas upper on your lower, by accident, then pull the Buffer/Spring.
I kept it in my "straight pull no gas" just for that reason.
Added some charging force though.
Thought about a really weak spring but accidents do happen.

I used ( and shot out) a GM 24" bull gunsmith special.
Front sight block and fake gas tube.

Seems the biggest problem with BCA is the percentage of barrel problems .
Maybe they have improved.

I got to shoot and watch Bob Mo shoot his that he switched out to 300 blackout. It shot pretty great for what it is. Obviously it’s no bench rest gun. The bolt operation is different but nice at the same time.

Does the tail of the carrier go into the buffer tube when cycling it? Mulling the possibility of grabbing an upper (when they get back in stock) and running it with a BRN180 lower.

It seems Rocketvapor's experience is the bolt does move into the buffer tube.

"It seems Rocketvapor's experience is the bolt does move into the buffer tube."
My experience is with the Gen 1 and 2 side charge uppers.
I haven't tried the Bolt style upper. I don't think the chopped off carrier contacts the buffer.

Ah. My mistake.

The bolt carrier does go into the buffer tube about 1 1/8 inch. I do not have a buffer in this lower.

I was wasting time watching a cheap optics review video, and dude was having SOOOOO many issues with BCA. There were probably 20 failures between 2 mags in this little segment, alone:
