Just got it today. Switched the barrel to a 300 blackout, standard barrels and bolts work. The upper came with a sleeve to close off the gas port. Have not fired it yet. Will let you all know how it goes tomorrow. Tried to load pictures but it didn't workKeep us posted

Looks like a springLooks like there are no gas rings in the rear of the bolt. How is the bolt centered in the carrier?
Mike
That was my concern with that setupTail Piece on bolt fits in precision hole in Carrier.
Spring presses on the carrier and ring flange on bolt.
Explained on the BCA site.
I see no "Primary Extraction" just Bolt Rotation with the handle instead of a Carrier Ramp.

With my No-Gas Side Charger I had to use a thin screwdriver to break the bolt loose.
Pulling the side handle sometimes wasn't enough. Once the bolt broke free it would extract.
For a 3X20 F-Class match I would start to get stickage 30-40 rounds in. I started using flexible swab every 20 rounds or so and that would usually take care of it.
Maybe bolt rotation will be enough.
There is no spring on an AR firing pin. I believe that it is there to put resistance on the bolt handle likely helping to keep the weapon in battery otherwise the handles leverage would easily rotate the internal bolt out of its lug positions. The bolt itself uses rings on the rear and a small band closer to the bolt face to center it within the bolt bore in the BCG. Without the rings, it will stay alined enough and have a slight amount of movement similar to a savage “floating” bolt head.Spring retracts the firing pin
Primary extraction is where turning the bolt body against a ramp or cam will start to extract the case from the chamber. Otherwise it can be difficult to "break the case loose"Ok so imma go ahead and sound like the uneducated swine here.....somone mind explaining primary extraction to me ?

The advantage to these bear creek uppers would be that they use regular ar15 barrels and bolts .If you want a real bolt action upper, check out Uintah Precision.
Sure looks like a standard bolt head. The bolt carrier is different is different for sure. Are u sure they use standard ar bolts
