Garmin chronograph

I lost mine after using it for a few months and I ordered a replacment the next morning. If that tells you anything. And then a few weeks later I found the 'lost' one in the stationary drawer where my wife put it in some daze. Now as a penalty for her actions I havent told her and get to have two now! one at bench and one down range to measure bc!

Glad you found it! I felt real bad for you when you posted that you lost it.

It just works! No complaints. It hasn't missed a shot yet. My LabRadar went down the road. $350 for a full package and I'm glad to see it gone. By comparison to the Garmin, the only good thing I can say about the LabRadar is that it's big, orange and hard to lose. Labradar finicky? Yes. Garmin, not at all. It's interesting how many of my shooting buds have grabbed a Garmin. Just turn it on, set it down by their shooting position and after a few shots, they're hooked. I've lost count how many buds have swallowed the hook. I have never seen anything like it in my shooting experience. Garmin is a disruptor in the chronograph world.

I've had one for 3 months and it's way better than I had hoped. It's fun to let a shooter with no chrono use it for a few shots. May have helped sell a few. I really like the utterly simple to use intuitive buttons. So easy to use for an old technophobe like me.

Except for Lab Radar ( too large and " clunk", I have owned every chronograph made from Oehler , to Magnetospeed to Caldwell and even my worst PVM 21 :) . The Garmin is my favorite. Simplicity to set up and operate, acceptable battery life for a range session, and never misses a shot at the public range. Totally satisfied

Can you elaborate on your down range setup?

Thats funny.

What’s everyone think of the garmin chronograph after using it for awhile?
Had a LR since they came out- Garmin is so much better- so handy and easy to use. Rarely misses a shot —but there is this- nothing is perfect

I use the steel plates that hang off a t-post. Plan is to weld a small support on back side of post so can mount the garmin. Then set the plate infront of it acting as a shield. leave at least 20 yards of free space behind the post. Once you set the garmin on ready for first shot, you have 30 minutes before it auto turns off. Thats the plan! post being welded today.

Thank You, looking forward to your full report of the results and how you then calculate the BC.

It should work. As far as calculating bc I will figure that out once I have the numbers! But I guess I will also have to wait for the right conditions to shoot...ie average conditions of light cross breeze and no head or tailwind. This wont happen for atleast a week in my area.
