I'm supposedly getting my barrel today.
Mock up & send out to get stock made.
Wishing now that i had gone with a faster twist than the standard 1:10.
Waiting on 2 bags of 120gr Partitions from Shooters Pro Shop for the 257 Roberts AI.
Still searching for 110gr Sierra Tipped GameKings, 115gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, and 115gr Berger VLDs.

Those 120 NPs will be excellent game bullets for sure. Not for the range of the 110/115 low drags but out to 400-500 yards, they'll be fine.
New bullets are often like fishing lures.....designed to catch the fishermen and hunters. My brief venture into the .25 world was about 10 years ago when I bought a Ruger #1 Mannlicher in .257 Roberts. Pretty gun. Killed 3 bucks in 4 years with Sierra 117 Pro Hunters. All shot at the top of the front leg, all down in 5 to 25 yards. If it ain't broke, don't get to excited about fixing it.Ken, hope your hands are healing well.

Great group. With that load whatever you pull the trigger on should end up on the dinner plate.
I hear you. I feel the same way about the .30-06 and .308And the Souper being a bit longer than the CM, with slightly more case capacity.
For myself, i'll shoot a 505 Gibbs at matches before i'd buy a Creedmoor.

The 06 & 308 have earned their reputation. They didn't just show up and jump to the front of the pack the same year they arrived. Nothing against the 6.5 CM but sorry that's just premature ejaculation. It can't walk where either on of the others plowed.

to mind Browning had to use chrome to make WSSM barrels last. Maybe that doesn't matter in this forum but it did show that we get shortchanged on factory barrels. It is possible for a chrome lined and usefully accurate factory barrel to be produced and sold at a normal price.
If you're a handloader who enjoys lots of extra steps in brass prep, 25 WSSM may be worth considering.

I have cases loaded for a ladder test - but haven't been able to get out to do any testing. Hopefully after the holidays...
I use 22-250 brass in my 250AI, which is rated at 63,000 psi and will do anything the CM will do and stretch brass less. I'm not lagging far behind my 257AI. I also believe Hornady modified the 250AI with a 30 degree shoulder and marketed it as a CM. After all, they took the RCM case which flopped, necked it to 6.5 and called it a PRC and it took off
