Favorite Varmint Rifle Pics Please!

I guess if I was shooting the light-weight bullets my 260 AI would be considered a varmint rifle.

It's a Rem 700 Custom Build by (WSMNUT) w/Krieger 1 - 8 Tw. 24 inch sendero taper barrel.
8.5 X 25 X 50 Leupold VX3i LRP. Typical group with the right load combo.

I liked this caliber so much that I sent Zack my 40X for a re-barrel Bench Gun.

Hey Bill, It looks like Zack built a twin to your 260 AI. This is my 222 that he barreled for me.
Krieger 12 twist, standard target contour. Finished at 22.2" (we just had to use that length).

Thank you for our phone conversation. I am a little intimidated about my first trip to the Big Horn in a few months for Marmots. Lack of 4 wheel drive is my biggest fear and may delay my start date, I am sure there is plenty to else to enjoy visiting if I need to kill some time,
Might be a little expensive but, why don't you rent a 4WD? One of my nephews did last year from CA. to ID for an elk hunt. He didn't totally mistreat it, washed real good, threw a wax job on it and all was good.

This is something definitely worth considering. I have done this several times for longer trips in rougher country where I didn't want the wear on my vehicle. The first time was 1,800 miles and it rained one day, of course. The truck was covered with mud front to back, so I had it detailed to avoid any confrontation with the rental car company. I turned the truck in and the lady remarked how pretty the truck looked so I showed her the picture of it after driving through the mud then explained I had it detailed. She smiled but then told me that they detail every vehicle after the rental and I didn't need to do that again. Then she deducted $50.00 from the rental cost...:)

I'm just wondering where in the hell she could get a 4X4 detailed for 50 bucks, like most farmers I get my truck cleaned up once a year and it cost me 200$ last time... John

In reality, she couldn't get a truck detailed for $50.00 but she wanted to make an appreciative statement to me financially without catering to the real world price. Her people did all the clean up and detailing on site and they don't pay top dollar for Summa Cum Laude graduates or MBAs either.:p

Yes, the real world price to detail my truck the last time was $200.00 if I recall.

I took a lot of people shooting dogs over the years. We sat up in a row, Close to each other. I was able to call my own shots, and almost every shot within 300 yards was a PLOP sound with dogs going airborn. My hunting partners did not have nearly the High % hits as I did. I rarely ever said a word, other than, "how you do'en?"
One thing for certain, they knew for a fact that if they could not see their bullet impact, they had no idea how much to hold over on windage and elevation. On the next trip, every rifle other than 17's had muzzle brakes, or they were so hard headed about hating brakes that they did not want to go back...".wasting too much ammo just burning up barrels".
People who adamantly don't like brakes can be real stubborn about it. But they're just missing out.
