Yeah, lol, I'm the OP and can say I settled on One Shot spray lube - and let it dry for a few minutes before sizing, spray a light coat inside the die also. Works well for me. 0.308 brass FLS in custom dies.Almost 10 year old post.
Hope it's figured out.
I use both Imperial and Ballistol depending on how many cases I am resizing at time and I never stuck a case with either. Both work great, but I think Ballistol is easier to clean up. I used Imperial for years then had some issues with not getting consistent shoulder bumps, so I moved to Ballistol. Ultimately, I figured out I was lubing the shoulders with Imperial. I have since changed my lube technique, and now am mostly using Imperial again, with very satisfactory results.Any opinions on the best case lube for full length sizing ?
I am currently using Lyman Kwik Case Lube but have had several close calls with cases getting nearly jammed in the die. I then spray a bit more and get a dimple on the shoulder - a sign of excessive lube. My cases are put in a plastic food container and sprayed, rolled around a bit then left for 1-2 minutes.
Until a few weeks ago, I was using Hornady One Shot lube but ran out and it wasn't in supply when I needed to buy a replacement so bought the Lyman.
My dies are very clean, no issues with them, as are the cases before they're resized.
What do you think ? Go back to the Hornady One Shot spray lube or is there something better out there ?
Thanks
Martin
+1, for years... JohnMartin,
Yes and,....yes, what I mean is yes I believe there is a better lube, Imperial sizing wax is the best imho, but I also have used the Hornaday one shot for years with good success until I was turned onto the Imperial wax. If you want to try the best buy a can of Imperial if you don't want to experiment buy the one shot, you already know it works

I have good results by mixing Lee case lube and Isopropyl rubbing Alcohol in a spray bottle. I throw my brass in a small tub I have and then spray it all down, swirl it a bit, then let it sit until it dry.
I havent had any issues. I size, then throw the brass back into my tumbler and clean all the lube off. I do have to clean my dies occaionally......
That works quite well and it doesn't discolor the case like it does using oil.Imperial Sizing Wax.
I also use a thin coat on cases when I fireform.
I couldn't agree more!!!Hornady should be renamed Hornady ONE STUCK! If you want a spray lube, get the Dillon stuff! It does not separate, and it does not stick cases.
