Case Lube

Any opinions on the best case lube for full length sizing ?

I am currently using Lyman Kwik Case Lube but have had several close calls with cases getting nearly jammed in the die. I then spray a bit more and get a dimple on the shoulder - a sign of excessive lube. My cases are put in a plastic food container and sprayed, rolled around a bit then left for 1-2 minutes.

Until a few weeks ago, I was using Hornady One Shot lube but ran out and it wasn't in supply when I needed to buy a replacement so bought the Lyman.

My dies are very clean, no issues with them, as are the cases before they're resized.

What do you think ? Go back to the Hornady One Shot spray lube or is there something better out there ?

Thanks
Martin
I use both Imperial and Ballistol depending on how many cases I am resizing at time and I never stuck a case with either. Both work great, but I think Ballistol is easier to clean up. I used Imperial for years then had some issues with not getting consistent shoulder bumps, so I moved to Ballistol. Ultimately, I figured out I was lubing the shoulders with Imperial. I have since changed my lube technique, and now am mostly using Imperial again, with very satisfactory results.

Martin,
Yes and,....yes, what I mean is yes I believe there is a better lube, Imperial sizing wax is the best imho, but I also have used the Hornaday one shot for years with good success until I was turned onto the Imperial wax. If you want to try the best buy a can of Imperial if you don't want to experiment buy the one shot, you already know it works ;)

+1, for years... John

Imperial wax for me. I have tried the others. If you are going to make your own lanolin and alcohol, do NOT wash it out into a drain that you don't want to clog.

Nothing but Imperial Sizing Die Wax (now Redding?) since the 80s.

Haven't stuck a case with it yet. It seems to protect the brass long term too. Some loaded ammo has been in storage for a long time & the brass is still bright even when bullets are starting to turn color.

I have good results by mixing Lee case lube and Isopropyl rubbing Alcohol in a spray bottle. I throw my brass in a small tub I have and then spray it all down, swirl it a bit, then let it sit until it dry.

I havent had any issues. I size, then throw the brass back into my tumbler and clean all the lube off. I do have to clean my dies occaionally......

Every so often I get a bunch of once fired LC brass either 556 or 762 to resize. I use Lee case lube mixed with 91% isopropyl -oh and wet a bunch of large cleaning patches with the mix and put it and 100 556 or 40-50 762 cases into a gallon freezer bag. Shake rattle and roll for a few minutes, pull them out let them dry and size. Low sizing effort, never sticking and the necks are usually lubed enough to go on a mandrel without much effort and no expander ball induced issues. It only takes about an inch squeezed out of the tube to make the mix. Just wet enough to spread the lube on cases.

I use the lanolin/red heet homebrew and also keep a tin of Imperial on the shelf for when doing small batches. In the past I experimented with Kiwi clear shoe polish and mink oil boot waterproofing paste just because a old timer said he had used them and I wanted to see if they really worked. They did

Never had an issue with Hornady one shot. I let it sit the minute after spraying. Best part is I don't need to clean after sizing.

I actually I dropped a sized brass the other day and it dented the case mouth. I bet all those years I used to clean brass after sizing messed up concentricity
