I knew it was going to be an unpopular opinion around these parts, but I stand by it. We all live by the order of the law and rioters and looters should be arrested and sentenced in court. That's different than someone exacting retribution in the form of murder for the destruction of their property.

I understand what you're saying that someone shouldn't be murdered for destruction of property and that they should be arrested and tried in a court. But I'm not going to stand idly by and let someone burn my house or my place of business to the ground because there's no one around to arrest them. You certainly don't believe that the cops are going to be able to come and arrest all them rioters. We already know that this is not possible. So Evan what is your suggestion to this scenario? I don't want to have to kill anybody for destruction of property but I am too old and do not have the money to rebuild. For those of you who say collect your insurance money you need to check your insurance policies. Most of them have a clause in there that will not cover what is happening with the rioters.

Saw a story regarding the well funded protestors thinking about taking their show to more affluent neighborhoods. Is this the start? Currently I do not own an AR or a 30 round magazine, but am now seriously considering buying a couple. Had out of town baseball scrimmage for my adult son this past Saturday, but told their was a peaceful march in my city (a first to my knowledge). I would like to believe what happened in the twin cities was abhorrent to all reasonable Americans. Well funded anarchists, may in future meet the silent majority. Always said, I would rather run away as fast as my old legs would carry me, than shoot another human being. Defending home and family, that's another question. I pray cooler heads prevail.

The small town where I grew up and still work, had it's moment of fame last weekend with a couple bus loads of bozos from the city "come to protest".

Radio talk show host Lars Larson mentioned it on his show the other day, saying that 50 or so protesters arrived in Klamath Falls to protest, and were met by a couple hundred local citizens, many of whom were well armed, and intent on protecting local businesses. I've since talked to a half dozen guys I know who were there, and part of the "citizen militia". Below is a Face Book post from a local business owner describing the party. I've deleted the names to protect the -- well you know.

"As the owner of XXXX XXXXXX for the last 24 years, I have never felt a threat to my business as I did last night. Antifa had announced that they were coming to Klamath to protest and riot on Main Street and to take their performance to the court house of which XXXX XXXXXXX is only a block away. With the numerous windows in my bar, I knew it washing to be a sitting duck. I called XXXXXX Security to stand guard to protect the windows. To my wife's dismay, I then grabbed my shotgun and headed to the bar.

To my amazement, as I turned onto Main Street was the large barrage of Klamath residents swarming the street carrying Shotguns, ARs, rifles, and pistols. There were law enforcement in abundance also. Antifa didn't make it to the court house, and my bar had no incidents. Antifa walked into a hornet's nest. It was like a sixth grade football team walking into the Oakland Coliseum to take on the raiders. Anyway, Antifa made their protest with very little physical confrontation, but that was it.

Thank you Klamath Falls. You make me proud to live and do business here." XXX XXXXX


I've also heard of a few other small towns who have had similar occurrences, and successful suppression and so far no violence. Let's hope that it stays that way. It would also be nice if the lame-brain media would give kudos and credit where it's due. But that of course prolly aint gonna happen. jd

I heard something similar happened in Grants Pass in terms of armed citizens showing up to protect from rioting. Here in Springfield I guess there was a little graffiti, more in Eugene. I also heard there were some riots in Medford but I don't know how bad.

Usually, the mess in Oregon is all in Portland. It used to be the coolest city anywhere, now it's a cesspool and I avoid it as much as possible.

With Trump and Barr calling antifa a domestic terrorist organizations it opens them up to RICO, and that means these rich progressives donating money to antifa will be in trouble. I don't know all the legalities between what Trump and Barr said and an official designation of being a terror group, but going after the donors will be a huge step.

I am heartened by the video from Idaho. If we can get old white guys to join with and protect peaceful protesters, then antifa and every other extremist group is done.

I am sure I am like a lot of us here. I grew up in a lower middle class blue collar family in a small town. I have risen to the upper middle class by improving myself, working hard, and not letting failure deter me. I think anyone can do that. I understand that certain demographic groups have a more difficult road but I don't see the white privilege and white supremacism that some do. Many from disadvantaged demographics have far exceeded what I have done.

However, I am willing to have an honest conversation and would love nothing more than for everyone to feel that the rule of law is evenly applied and all people are judged only by their actions and character.

So I gather that you would not shoot someone breaking into your home, to do whatever crime they have intent to do. How fast to you think calling 911 and waiting for the authorities to do something would take in your neighborhood and for them to come and take care of the criminals ? What will you be doing in the meantime ? And how safe will your family members while you wait ?
I know I would be shooting, if they did not respond to my orders to get out and made further movements to attack.

I strongly disagree that destruction of property is cause for ending human life. Way too many historical examples of how that reality plays out for the citizenry. I know of another government that enacted a similar policy that resulted in a quite famous incident in Tiananmen Square. Do we want our government to behave similarly to communist dictatorships?

I have yet to see proof of a massacre in Tiananmen sq. have you seen pics of piles of dead bodies? I did see the NG shoot a bunch of college hippies

I hate when citizens show up to protest openly carrying arms. I think it sends a bad message and makes law abiding, armed citizens look bad.
But, I am glad that people are arming themselves. Gun sales are at a all time high. It is obvious that too many local and state government officials are socialists and are in support of these terrorists.
That being said, thank you to our founding fathers for ensuring we have the means to defend ourselves by way of the 2A. Precisely what it was created for. Who, would have ever thought that this great nation would come to this.
We have been invaded and we are at war. The enemy did not storm our beaches, instead they slowly and quietly infiltrated our government and have grown so strong that they are feeling empowered to show themselves. A worrisome time in our history.

The 2nd amendment aint about hunting or defending yourself. do you think you had to ask the govt permission to fight off Indians if they attacked you? The 2nd is not about being on the defensive but to take the offense against tyrants in govt and to displace them .

There was no massacre, just a few college hippies that go out of hand, and used the stand down by the own Chinese man with the tanks as a front, for their activities and they paid for it. Which is what ANTIFA and the other terrorists need.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree but I make an exception for mob actions. IMHO, riots are what justifies Hiram Maxam's invention.

But wait until the owner has his day in court, I don't believe any jury will convict him and/or you will see the charges dropped, in time. Especially now in Minn.

They were guarding a garrison sized flag in front of Wheeler Toyota.
And yes they were armed!

I really doubt it in the long run. But time will tell, hope the best for him, as he was just defending his life and property, like many of us would do also, if attacked by criminals like that. They are felons and the law allows the shooting of a felon, after a point is passed on a victim or even LE.

with all the mayhem destruction fires looting the cops found time to arrest him. think of that.
