I just sold a scope on G*******r. When I sent the buyer the invoice, he replied with a question about the scope that indicated there might be something wrong with it. It is absolutely perfect. When he paid by PayPal he expressed concern that it be very well packaged....in broken English. This was deja vu.
A year ago I had an almost identical reply by a buyer on Ebay. When he paid for the item by PayPal he expressed concern that it be very well packaged....in broken English. When he received the item he claimed it was defective, and wanted to negotiate for a partial refund. I refused, and issued a full refund and paid return shipping. When I got it back I found there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I was pissed, but I let it die.
I sent G*******r an email explaining my situation, but I may not hear from them for a week, if ever. If I refund the payment, the seller can leave negative feedback for me, but I can't leave feedback for him. If I close the sale, I can be removed from G*******r. I've used them a good bit over the years and have excellent feedback. I hate to lose that, but I'm inclined to just refund the payment and let the chips fall where they may. I don't intend to get burned twice.
Am I being paranoid? Has anyone else had an experience like this, or have a better suggestion?
Seems buyers are well protected, and seller beware.
Thanks guys,
Gerry
