Seller Beware -- Ebay and Gunbr***r

The number one problem I have on Gunbroker is people who have no rating who want to bid on my items. I'm not a commercial retailer, just a guy selling gear when I need to or want to, so I have no time to handhold them through the purchase process, and 99.99% of the time if I make an exception to my "no non-rated bidders" it comes back to bite me.

No matter how clearly I spell out basic sale terms and conditions, people simply will not read and do not read and then get upset when they are blocked, or screw up the process and I make them follow it.

People.

I used to sell and buy a lot of stuff online. Still do get some things. If I sell something it does not leave my house until I have cash in my hand, period end of story. You can solve a lot of problems by saying some things up front, like NO PARTIAL REFUNDS...you buy it, you don't like it or have a problem you send it back on your dime for a full refund if it's in the same condition as when it left.
The one thing I will never understand is why a bunch of gun guys patronize paypal to begin with????? They are the most gun hating, communist, liberal, tree hugging, lying, libtard, left wing, communist, progressive democrats alive!!! They want nothing more than to see all guns, knives, weapons, ammo, bullets, scopes, and the second amendment {in short everything we love} to evaporate...right now...So why does everyone continue to deal with them????? They charge to get money, they charge to send money and they will jack it right back from you if some buyer bawls about it. That B.S. about not getting charged for F&F....they charge you when you take the money out of paypal and they send you a check. You are paying it one way or another. The only free ride is if you leave the money in there and keep on dealing with other paypal libtards. Someone posted that money orders don't solve anything...they solve paypal!!!!
I know absolutely nothing about Paypal's political stance. I am not a big fan on the selling side. I do know that they are a publicly traded company, and they are, above all else, capitalists. They know which way the wind blows. If PayPal, and Ebay, and Amazon saw billions of dollars in profits blowing into their bottom line from firearms sales: without public outcry, they would almost certainly accept those sales. Unfortunately the wind is not blowing in that direction.

Can you imagine the liability they would be exposed to if they had facilitated the purchase of the weapons used in the Las Vegas shooting of 2017, or others? Billions.

As I said, I am no fan on the selling side, but I will continue to use them for purchasing, as I consider them the lesser of three or four evils as far as buyer protection goes. I am becoming more and more "gunshy" of internet transactions, regardless of payment method.

I think forums, such as this, where you can actually get to know and trust buyers and sellers may be the answer.

Thanks again for all your comments

Gerry

It's the "no child left behind" world we live in buddy...you are probably the first person in their life that ever said "no" and then made them follow directions and they are in a state of galactic shock. Like the renter I threw out the other day for refusing to cut his grass. A grown ass man in tears because he didn't think the word "eviction" could apply to him.

PayPal does very strictly prohibit sales of firearms and eBay is extremely picky about what they allow and disallow.
