150-170 Grain Bullets?? .277 vs .284

Midway lists the Nosler AccuBond LR 150 @ 625 BC & Berger Elite's 170 @ 662 BC. How do these Bullets compare to equivalent 7mm Projectiles. One could be tempted to go .277 Bore only the Bullets cost considerably more. (.277 150 Grainers that can be had around 500 BC for bargain prices.) Can the .277 Bore compete to 1200 yards? Cartridge would be near 7-08 AI capacity.

Ironically after the Roller coaster ride I had regarding the Reamer for the 7mm-RPC that left such a sour taste. I've changed direction. I will actually be going .270 Caliber. Now I need someone who practices good Quality Control to fix this Reamer. The power of a 270 Win in a .308 Case is at your fingertips.

I went into this question when Berger announced the new 170 bullet in .277. Numbers looked good as did there 150s and 160s. Just didn't want to rely on only a couple bullets for a rifle to use as a LR option. I love my 270 as well and it's with me every deer season as a back up rifle. My plans were for the 270 WSM when I contemplated it. The plans just never materialized. There are too many LR calibers out there I think to get a fire started under the 277. Just don't see demand for it.

I know the Title of this thread says otherwise, but like I remarked I have changed direction. Instead of 150's or the 170 I will focus on the 130's & also the Federal 136. It's not really anything that the 270 can't do, & that's the point.

I plug in my environmentals and the first and last velocities from the Labradar and the 150 ABLR BC is .620 G1(average depending on the environment and velocity) out of an 8 twist 270wby.
