Mike, I'm running a 6/284 with 88gr Bergers @ 3250 and it will put a large hole in a coyote. Never shot a groundhog but I image it would be devastating on them
Whenever you want to give it a go....

That was the 22 Dasher @ 200yds with the 53gr Vmax. I still can't get over the devastation that little causes.Adam, did you hit that with one of your special rounds or just hit it with a standard Bolens lawn mower???![]()
I did not know Bolens made a dasher...That was the 22 Dasher @ 200yds with the 53gr Vmax. I still can't get over the devastation that little causes.
17 Tac w/ 30 Golds
Im getting 3250 with 44.o grains of H100-v in my 243 win & 88 Bergers in a 1-12 twist. I would think you could get a lot more than 3250 with your 6x284.Mike, I'm running a 6/284 with 88gr Bergers @ 3250 and it will put a large hole in a coyote. Appreciate the feed back guys! I would jump on that 25 WSM but, my action is std bolt face and like to keep it versatile for future use.
I looked at Hodgdon's load data for the 25-284 and it looks like 3,500-3,600 is achievable with varmint Bullets. I would imagine that would be sufficient to toss them around? It's not 4,000 but, should still see some impressive results?
You could buy a bolt and have both that would rally make it versatile.

I shoot 75 a-max's at 3750 from a 26in 5r broughton from a22-250AI since this is a no bs thread.
He is right on
I'm shooting a 17MachIV 30 Golds at 3850fps does the job and a Tac is even faster. Rifleman knows what he's talking about
Gotta try some of those 53 V-Max. Great result. Head or neck shot?Like this.
Yes, lol. I shot the hog in the neck just above the shoulders. The head is folded under body, about 90% severed from the body.Gotta try some of those 53 V-Max. Great result. Head or neck shot?
I just started shooting a 22/243 AI, 24" Hart 14T(used BR barrel), 60g Sierra at 4000 fps, tiny groups. The reaction on steel at 300 yards is nothing short of awesome and have not killed anything with it yet.
