Why Not Savage?

I have two savages, one a left handed model 12 chambered in 6.5x284, new stock, new barrel, with the bolt release on the trigger guard. Shoots ok, trigger is not what I like..... I also have a 12 single shot was 6br, now 6xc chamber. Trigger is my complaint about the rifle, and yes I have spent the money to get good triggers on all but my Savages. I have attempted to get better triggers for both, no success. Way to many variations in Savages for trigger manufacturers to attempt to keep up with

It’s probably because I have never had a Jewel or similar trigger , but I have no problems whatsoever with the Accutrigger . I can work on them myself and they break like glass . No u can’t lower the pull too much , but if u keep it at say a pound or so it works great !

I can understand what people may think when they compare the accutrigger to a Jewell or B&A.

I have a CZ 22lr with a 10oz trigger. It feels like a ton compared to my Jewell 1.5oz. You do not "pull" the Jewell, you "touch" it.

You don't think they are pulling those guns randomly off the line do you? Lol.. They will have more resources available to them then anyone off the street.. Why they run factory teams, sells rifles..
I have seen horrible quality control with Salvage..

Still waiting to see your Remington 30 round group at 300 yards !

Great discussion!

I had the same question, can I make a factory Savage rifle shoot as good as my BAT/GRS custom for less money?

Answer is yes!

Bought a used Savage F-class in 6BR.

Bed the action in the factory stock
SAV 2 trigger @ 8 oz
29” Bartlein
Nightforce 15x55 (used)

Shot 200-10x, 199-10x, 194-6x at 600yds - two days ago.

593-26x agg.

Not an excellent score, but I was very happy with the result. That ranks up there with my custom gun.

Gun tracked great, trigger was excellent, bolt lift was good, but it wont eject of course! Really enjoyed shooting it.

Thinking I might build another...

This is the daughter fire forming at the same point of aim over a few days. I don't remember but it was over 50 rounds, cold clean bore each time.. She was 12 yrs old
