Why Not Savage?

Sir, I think you already answered your question.

It's not as nice. People like nice. Therefore, eventually, many get tired of scrimping on the nice, so they spend the green to get what they want.

I certainly can't disagree with that. I haven't "scrimped" yet. Would probably regret it if I started now. Sometimes people just need to be reminded on something they already know.

Very rude person.
True, but sometimes the truth is like that.. After you rebarrel, trigger, bedding yada yada yada yada yada you build a great rifle but you are in it for good money and you aren't getting the return.. I like Salvage rifles because it can get shooter's to the range. I don't like people pretending they are getting world class rifles straight outta the box.

I am not sure who these "people" are that you are referring. Perhaps it is the voices in your head.

The Internet has made people very rude. It's not the opinion, it's the very rude manner in which you say it. Super classy guy.

I've heard that Team Savage also has won some world championship matches with factory guns. Not sure which year, type of match, or which models.

For Factory (factory action, chamber, barrel, stock) or Hunter (factory rifle with custom barrel) class rules I think they would be more than fine.

I have 2 that I bought off of here a few years ago. Both are target actions, PRT Lowboy stocks, Widden v blocks, bedded, Krieger shouldered barrels. 6br 26", .284 Shehane I think 30" straight pipe. Both under 800 rounds down them. I haven't shot either of them... They sure are pretty wearing that lipstick:D. I've tried to sell them because when I purchased them I shot informal benchrest. In between buying them and f class and PRS keeps me busy. Never asked an outlandish price, just got tired of tire kickers.

They are just fine, they are not great.
I can say what I want because I own and shoot a Savage out to 1000 yards.
I’ve never been embarrassed at any event nor have I finished last.

You don't think they are pulling those guns randomly off the line do you? Lol.. They will have more resources available to them then anyone off the street.. Why they run factory teams, sells rifles..
I have seen horrible quality control with Salvage..

Considering that I don't have a dog in this fight, I recall that they did not modify them in anyway. As to how they selected them I don't know other than it being reported as "off the shelf" rifles.

A local shooter who has a Factory 6.5 Creed 12 LRP who has done nothing to the rifle has scored 3.885, 3.878, 4.708 AGGS at 600 yards, using a Sinclair bipod, so far this year. I don't think that is bad for an "off the shelf" rifle with hand loads.
