Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi all from less than sunny England. I currently shoot semi professionally, I never shoot on ranges anywhere unless I am in the States. All of my shooting is live quarry. I reload, sometimes very quickly for a second shot. I also reload the rounds ;D

Hello all,
There is so much good info here I'm still in the reading stage. I found this site while doing research for my 6br build, and Wow!! I've decided to slow the progress on the new build and apply some of the techniques I've been reading about here, on a pair of rifles that I've allready built. I'm still finding answers without asking questions so I think I will just keep reading for now.
Thank you very much.
Ron.

Hi! My name is Jeff and I'm new to reloading.

I either picked the right time or the wrong time to get started, depending on how you look at it. I went through the basic metallic NRA reloading class in February, and it's taken from then until now to piece together enough tools that I might actually be able to load something. I started with the thought that I would load 9mm, but it turns out that I was able to get stuff for a .30-06 a little sooner, so that is where I'll be starting from. Good thing my cousin, and mentor, Andy (who pointed me to this forum) was able to loan me a few primers.

I may be able to try something this weekend, so I may have some questions, since I've had a couple of months to forget what happened in class. There might be a deer season for me sometime in the future.

Can't go wrong with .30-06 for reloading. It is a great round to learn with, just make sure you just enough case lube. I like Imperial Die Wax, I've had a few cases stick with the spray stuff. Get whatever powders you can, but for the range of bullets, Hodgdon or IMR 4895 works great (different load data though so watch out!) H4350, H414, Varget (good luck finding this one)... Search the web for the rifleman's journal
German Salazar has a ton of useful .30-06 information.

hello everyone,my name is mike,I'd like to get any info on reloading 22-250 ammo, 1-14 twist, seems like my gun likes factory hornaday 55g vmax so far. so any info on that bullet would be nice, plus i'm looking for a reloader, something basic but good is what i need.maybe hornaday lock & load?

Many good reviews and posts on all of the above. I don't think I've heard any bad reviews on reloading presses, so I'd look for the kit that fits your budget best. I'd recommend you get some practice at the basic steps, sizing, seating, charging, trimming before you go all out and start neck-sizing and/or annealing, but that is up to you.

Aside from any of the equipment offered in a "kit" I'd recommend a hand-priming tool and shell-holders. I'm using the cheap Lee Ergo-prime, but overall reviews aren't so good with that unit, mine is fine, but do a little research first.

Hi guys,my names Col, I`m new to the site tho not new to reloading.I`m from
the UK and will enjoy listening to your tales, and be very jealous of the free and easy atitude your country has with guns, tho its a little touchy right now

Hello fellow shooters and handloaders. My name is Luke, and I live in northern Wisc. I have been following this site for awhile now, and there are a lot of knowledgeable Riflemen here. I shoot with a small group that started as Fclass but has morphed into using benches. No matter, it's a good time.

Re: Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Texas!

Hello from San Antonio. This is my first-ever post anyhere here on the Accurate Shooter forum. Very nice resources here!
I have been 'casually' reloading for only a few years now for all these center-fire rifles shown below (and others), initially for the economy, but more recently became more serious as I have entered a few competitions and done some basic accurizing of some of my strongest rifles.
I also shoot rimfire competitively, but (no surprise) do not reload .22! ;) However, I did include some example pix of my .22 rifle(s) "...just because".
I am NRA-certified instructor in rifle marksmanship and safety training, and have taught NRA rifle intro courses for 4-H and Boy Scouts. Also hold NRA 'Marksman' designations in Smallbore Prone and High Power Mid-Range.
I will be researching some recommendations for M1 Garand loads, as I have been building up (shooting!) a supply of LC, HXP, Remington, and Winchester brass over the years. Addtional calibers I already reload for include .30-40 Krag, 7mm Mauser, 7.62x54R (for Finnish and Russian), and 7.65x53 Argentine. Next up: 8mm Mauser.

hello, ive been reloading for just over 1yr when ammo prices started to rise, a friend said one day, "lets learn how to reload instead of buying ammo online/in stores!" thinking we would save money! NOT! but learning to do so was and is very enjoyable, relaxing and a challenge at times. started out with 223 and now also doing 308. not a hunter, but avid shooter on range and whatever small/local competitions i can get into. i shoot primarily rifle, tactical (AR) and 600yrd bolt action comp.... and i have lots of questions.... just got into cfe223 and ar-comp powder that i like alot. so, i will b reading whats on forum and then asking questions. eager to learn.

Thanks for starting another thread on powder selection. Check the Articles section for Bugholes from a bipod, and 1000y ladder testing. That and the cartridges section have tons of info to get you going!

Hi guys ( and gals). I`m in TX and glad to be here. I`ve been reading more than posting so as not to show my ignorance! My son shoots some long range competitions and I load for him. We are having a blast!

He shoots a DTA in .260 Rem and we are getting closer and closer to being competitive. I am firmly convinced that this is NOT reloading ,,,it`s rocket science. Thanks for having me.

Helo all,
I am new to this site and have found it to be very informational. I have been shooting for nearly 40 years and reloading for over 20. I spent 20 + years in the Army and taught marksmanship for several of those. I look forward to learning from the members here and sharing as well.

Hey folks - been away from shooting since 2001. I was laid off 23yrs into what had been a rewarding career and its taken since then to get my consulting business up and running to the point that I finally have some spare time to get back to doing something I love doing. You really never do work as hard as you do when work for yourself!

Been shooting informally and reloading since the late '70s. Got started in High Power after attending a clinic sponsored by a local club when I was living in the New Orleans area. I got pretty far along in High Power, beginning to worry about getting my HM card at least in long range when I got laid off. We'll have to see where I'm at after this long break when I get back to practicing and attending matches.

Thanks to the great info and resources on this site, I've already upgraded some of my reloading techniques and the way I clean my rifle barrels just for starters. Look forward to learning more and discovering better ways of doing things.

Hello Everyone! Thank you all so much for being a part of this sight and creating an avenue to learn from. Nothing like learning from other's experience, strengths and knowledge! I am a hunter at heart have been all of my life from an early age growing up on Pheasant hunting in western Kansas and more recently big game hunting in various parts of North America. I now live in North Texas in Justin. I am a novice at reloading and looking to gain more knowledge and have many questions. I appreciate your wealth of knowledge in advance.
