Mornin boys...
Just got on here a week or so ago.
Its already helped me with my 6-223.
Didn't have a clue about where to start loading it and the first time I got on, there was a post that had about 20 some pages on that cal. It sure helped.
I've been on the GGVG site for several years and see some of its members here.

I am partially retired, i.e., I have slowed down from 55 hours a week to 40 hours. Seriously, I work about 5 hours a day when I want to. Right now I am working 40 hours to finish up a project to meet a deadline. I am a registered land surveyor in Kansas. I am also a Kansas Hunter Education instructor. I use to be a NRA certified shotgun, home safety, shot shell and metallic reloading instructor. I haven’ taught any classes in a long, long time, other than Hunter's Ed, my NRA certification has probably lapsed.
I have a Rem 700 in 222 Rem with a bull barrel. I purchased this rifle around the early 1980’s. I am going to start accurateizing it. I have shot it off and on over the years and just love it. Right now it will shoot 1 to 1.5 inch groups with factory ammo. I am starting to shoot BR at a local gun club in the factory class. Once I get it set up where it will start grouping about a 3/4” to 1/2” group I will start shooting at other gun clubs in the Midwest. There are quite a few of them.

hi everybody. i'm new here. i'm working on my new rifle and will be working up loads soon. savage stainless long action with a 28" criterion barrel chambered in 6.5x55 topped with a sightron 10-50x60 scope.

New to Forum, but have searched it in times past. I am an involuntarily retired IT guy because of Lyme disease. I searched this site for equipment evaluations and convinced myself about the RCBS ChargeMaster. I just pulled the plug on one today from Midway and should have it on Feb. 4th.

I like to hunt with T/C Contender & Encores. I especially like wildcats and currently have a 41 GNR #2 for my contender and a 280 GNR and a 310 GNR for my Encore. I have had a stock 15" 308 for my Encore and a 240 Gibbs & 30 Gibbs in Carbine configuration.

I have a 6.5/06 with 28" McGowan 1" dia barrel and am hoping to be able to shoot at 1000 yds this summer. I have a 6.5X20 Leupold that I bought in the 80's and may have to upgrade when I can afford it.

The next purchase on my agenda is a reloading press. I am looking at the Forester Co-Ax and trying to raise money.

Grey Eagle,
Welcome to the forum, looks like you got things pretty well lined out and figured out, you will be happy with your new purchase and also the press if you choose it, look forward in talking with you.

Hello from Lithia, FL!

I'm a Noob and have a GAP .308 on the way. I bought 3 boxes of Federal Gold Medal ammo and found small variations in the OAL and weight that may affect accuracy, so I'm planning on loading my own ammo for more consistency. I have a recipe from PO that works well. I'll be searching up the best equipment recommendations on the forum and once I have a shopping list I plan to jump in with both feet.

Welcome to the forum sir. I don't use a lot of factory ammo but what you bought is very accurate in my .308 out to 600 yards, and fairly accurate on to 800, after that forget it but the 168 Sierra wasn't built for 1K anyway. Best of luck and you can go to the search engine here on the site and probably every question you may have on loading equipment has already been asked, so read away and if you can't find it then ask away, there are a bunch of great guy/gals on here willing to help.

Hi Guys,
Just to say glad I am on board. Appreciate and enjoy your excellent Forum. Wishing you all the best.
I recently acquired a 6mmBR Norma cal. rifle with a fitted 27" Walter Luthar almost new barrel on a what seems to be well used Savage M10 action. I am having problems with the feed from the internal magazine. The rounds fail to feed and hence prevent the bolt closing. Presently I feed each round individually by hand and get very accurate results. But this type of feeding seems to defeat the object. Any suggestions please?

Welcome Nicklad and glad you made it. You would have more luck getting an answer to your question by posting a new thread with your question as many folks may not read this thread. Anyway, best of luck to you and welcome.

New to the reloading problem

I have been on the site for a while but not on the reloading forum. I shoot a custom BR6mm with a Kreiger barrel and a model 7 action with a Carl Bernosky stock. I shot a load today that I got off this site and it is simply majic. I worked up to the max listed here with I4007 SSC at 31.5 grs. It shot a 3 shot group at 100 yds. A perfect cloverleaf that measured .137" over bore size. Oh the bullet was a Berger 105 VLD Target. Hope the next groups with this load is the same. I will test it at 300 yds. later this week. Oh the H4895 groups were almost as good.

Hello all from SE Iowa! I have recently decided to start rolling my own ammo for my Savage .243. I have helped reload some stuff years ago but this will be my first attempt on my own.

I did a few searches on reloading forums and after looking at this site I figured I was in the right place. ;D

Last week I bought an RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit along with a set of Hornady .243 dies, a shell holder for .243, a Lyman universal trimmer, a Scheels electronic scale, some IMR 4350 powder, some Federal large rifle primers, a Frankford Quik-N-EZ case cleaning kit, and a bullet puller collet all from Scheels. In the last several days I have also purchased a nice variety of bullets to play with (55,75, and 87 gr) and about 300 pcs of once fired brass. Total $$$ invested so far with everything I mentioned is about $900.00 :o I'm sure there will be a few other things I will decide I need soon as well.

I'm looking forward to picking some brains in here and trying out new loads and shooting them to see if I can find a couple that shoot really well for me for both deer and coyotes, with the added bonus of having an excuse to go shoot more often. I may have to buy another rifle (or two) in different calibers (looking @ .204, 22-250, and maybe a .270 or 7MM) to keep the press cranking out more ammo to shoot. 8) I currently own a Savage 16 .243, a Savage 93R17 17 HMR, a Savage 220f 20 ga slug gun, and a Ruger 10/22.

I'm going to build myself a nice reloading/hunting/fishing man cave in the back 1/2 of my garage in the very near future and maybe I'll post some pics later of how it turns out.

In closing......I'm just your average everyday working man. I've been married 25 years to a wonderful woman (who decided my man cave would be allowed in the garage). ;) I have 3 amazing sons .... 2 in college, 1 in grade school. ??? The last one was all my wife's fault, but it turned out ok, my little guy is my most avid outdoorsman of the 3 who likes to fish, shoot the .22, and loves looking for skulls/bones out in the timber and he is begging me to take him hunting with him from now on. I am an avid bass fisherman and I so far I have hunted deer, pheasant, fox, coyotes, groundhogs, crows, rabbits and squirrels and will be turkey hunting for the 1st time in a few months. I hope to someday go out west and possibly hunt pronghorn and elk and I also hope to go somewhere and hunt hogs soon as well. Always open to invitations, hint, hint.

Hope I didn't rant too much!

Sincerely,

Trevor

Trevor,
Very nice first post and it sounds like to are headed in the right direction for sure. Also sounds like you have a hunting/fishing buddy for life there. Yes you found the right place and welcome to the forum.

I'm glad to be a member! There is a lot of knowledge here and seems I'm never to old to learn. I enjoy reloading and have already learned a bunch by visiting this sight with a bunch of guys who share the same interest. As they say "birds of a feather flock together" Thanks for having me!!!

I enjoy varmint hunting and a few of my rifles include .17 rem with pac-nor barrel, savage .204, savage .223, rem. 700 22-250 and a few others. I love to take my rem. 300 ultra out and shoot rock chucks. Again I am great full to be here...thank you!
