Wayne LaPierre Resigns

Did'nt catch the names on the news on who else besides Wayne will
go on trial. I had read sometime back that several current and former
board members are in this mess also. Just Wayne though was mentioned
on the nightly news channels.....

Anybody want to bet he set up a fat severence ??

“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”

I’ll see how this shakes out before I rejoin
I'll wait to see where it falls before I join for the first time.

Everyone under 45 has seen nothing but WLP running things into the ground. We never joined, and moved on to GOA, etc. The only way we joined is if we joined clubs that require it, and then it was reluctantly.

Been a long time coming, North and Heston both tried to push him out, but WLP owned the board. U know how the old boys club works U scratch mine I'll scratch yours. U are right the whole board needs replaced and a start over bunch installed by election from membership. Yes I also am a life member, But every time they call to upgrade for the last 6 years , I told them no more money till WLP is gone from the NRA. I will start going to the dinner events again. Yes hopefully this marks a new beginning for the NRA and its leadership. It would be great if North came back.

We will see how this will effect the NRA, hope it improves. Wayne is facing some stiff court time, I believe, from some reports.
Hopefully the NRA will get stronger and better and really lobby for all firearms owners and our freedom under the U.S. Constitution and Bill of RIghts, as it should.

Now gun owners that said they'd join the NRA if LaPierre resigned can step up and put their money where their mouths are.
I'll step up and put my money where my mouth is when what I said I want happens. Wayne LaPierre AND his 75 member board of hand-picked cronies and lickspittles gone (side note, the only reason for having a 75 member board of directors is to make the board useless).

I don't now if he can own firearms but I watched shoot a few while taking game on the tv show "Under Wild Skies".
Are you speaking of WLP? If so please explain, I know nothing about this. Somebody please let me know with some details.
Thank you

The NRA has destroyed it's credibility. Once you've done that there's no going back. You can't just fire a few people and say 'Yeah, we screwed up' and go back to what you were before, let alone advance.

That fork was driven home by the NRA itself a long time ago. The bleeding out has been slow.

They are done. By their own hand.

I said it. Don't care if you like it or not. Funny thing about the truth. It's irrefutable.

The sky hasn't fallen. The NRA hasn't lost it's credibility. I have been a NRA member for 58 years. MSN and CNN certainly says the NRA has fallen. And very few others.

Strange bedfellows when shooters ally themselves with the execrable NY Attorney General Letitia James. A casual observer might deduce she aspires to aid and comfort rank and file shooters.

About freaking time. Now who will the board hire? Let's see what they come up with.

They haven't gotten it right so far and didn't have the ability to fix this before it became the dumpster fire it turned into. I have my doubts.

But, time will tell.

I would vote for a complete evaluation of all the folks who were supposed to be watching WLP, not just him.

Had they been competent and WLP was innocent, the controversy would have ended with a strong defense to show this was just another baseless attack. So, the only conclusions we are left with is they were either complicit or incompetent.

A clear accounting is expected in any organization like this one and this should have ended within a business quarter, not dragged out for years.
Absolutely!

I'm glad he's gone and I hope the NRA might someday return but when something has been corrupted so badly for so long it's difficult to recover. I know it will take a lot before I'll ever trust the NRA again.
