Jury finds NRA & Wayne LaPierre Liable in Civil Trial

Well I just received my ballot so who should I vote for? The rank and file voters that aren't engaged in day to day NRA operations haven't a clue as to who to vote for. We just trust them to do what's right. I don't see them as being much different than any big corporation. They're free to waste as much as they want; until they're caught. Are the politicians going to give back the money the NRA donated to them?
I hate to mention it but it's become how American business is conducted these days. Corruption in government goes from the bottom to the top. Federal, State and Local entities are using taxpayer money to visit other countries to see how well they've screwed up so they can bring back idiot ideas to govern us with.
We're condoning the importation of millions of people that can't read and write their own language let alone ours and don't have to. We allow the imprisonment of innocent people just for going to a rally and destroy their lives and hold them without charging them for years. We allow our Congress for Decades to ignore the charges in the Constitution of making a budget and end up with 33+ TRILLION DOLLARS of Debt to saddle our children with. We allow our make believe president to not only ignore the Constitution but ignore the rulings of the Supreme Court. I dunnow perhaps I'm just reading too much Ambrose Bierce these days.
4 reform candidates listed in this thread.

They are the only ones I'm voting for unless there is another name or two that crop up. I'm not voting for all 25. 10 members of a board is too many. 75 is just plain stupidity.

Boltman I love you wanting to save a national tradition, and what was once a national treasure. But do you really think that the very people that allowed this to continue for decades, are going to let their chance at being the next Wayne be lost to something as simple to fix as an election? An election that they are going to be the ones to do the counting due to their position anyway. I hope that the NRA can be fixed and resume the work they started so many years ago, but I am not optimistic.
Ebb, I wish I could say I am optimistic but you are right. The new position being created if the amendments to the ByLaws passes allows the fox to name the guard of the hen house, and we all know how that goes. If AG James is successful in appointing a person to oversee the NRA that will not please the BOD, but may ultimately work for the members. It could also seriously damage the NRA and that would likely be her purpose in doing this. If we could get at least a few honest BOD members who would speak up when things don't seem right and keep members informed it would be a start at least.

I put Wayne La Piere and Latica James in the same group. People that i would not trust in an outhouse with a muzzle strapped over their mouth.

I hope he can't afford a Starbucks, homeless would suite me! He's a freakin thief, and that's all he is, give him what he deserves!

He should be left penniless, as well as them that failed to do there job!
Unfortunately, poor wayne will have to scrape by on the SEVENTEEN MILLION DOLLARS "Retirement" package the helpful NRA board had previously voted into his contract.

Maybe if the BOD shows some BALLS and doesn't give him the 17m the NRA will survive. Let the low life SOB sue.

He and his family should be in prison for the millions they stole

Oliver North tried to stop the stealing and he was lambasted

They let this theif have a goodbye page in their magazines …. Shame on the current board members

I hope everyone knows whose pockets that 17 million came from. The pockets of the members. We should all pat ourselves on the back for providing Wayne with such a generous golden parachute.

In the meantime new laws are being passed that aim to close down FFL's in the state of WA and those laws will be coming to a state near and dear to you. Imagine how many lawsuits could be filed with Waynes golden parachute.

I thought I read that both the CFO and the Chief Legal Counsel were found guilty along with WLP. So all the big three were dirty. Who is the "NRA Supplier" who hosted WLP on his estate in the Bahamas on multiple occasions? My guess is the entire BOD was trying to become an "NRA Supplier".

If it's the kind of contract he is likely to have excreted on the NRA, he would win such a suit, plus penalties for non-performance, and the NRA would also end up paying his legal bill.

-Definitely not a Lawyer, but I do agree with Shakepeare.

A fine of 4.5 million is a drop in the bucket to what he stole. He won't even notice it. The answer to the NRA's ails is Ollie North and a much smaller Board Of Directors where non of them do business with the NRA.

Always glad I was a year to year member and nothing more. I even stopped that at least 10 years ago.

Giving up without a fight is exactly what he wants.
