VhitaV choices

In US market VV has been fairly flat/stable in pricing over the last +10 years in the low $40's per pound. During the same period most other powders were in the mid-$20's to low $30's per pound. Now, most of these powders are 2x the price with VV still flat. It defies market pricing, but I'm grateful.

If I didn't already have an established inventory of powders and loads for my cartridges, I would go all in on VV powders at today's prices.

Earlier this summer I started worrying about supply so I loaded up on VV, as it was cheaper and I had never used them before. 8 lbs of 560, and a pound each of 540, 550, 555, 565 and 570. I already had 65 lb of H4350, H4831sc and H1000. As luck would have it, I lost sight in left eye, which is my dominant eye, so I haven't pulled a trigger yet this summer.....good thing I dropped $5k on optics last spring:)

If you lost sight in your former dominant eye, you now have a new one. Not being a smart ass, but pointing out you still have the opportunity to learn again and go shoot!

You are right, and I do have a few RH rifles, it feels very awkward as I've been shooting lefty since I was 7, 52 years ago. I'm hoping some Pheasant and grouse hunting this fall will help me get back into it.....thanks.

N570 - 338L, 300 NMI
N565 - 6.5PRC, 7 Saum,
N555 - 6.5PRC, 7 Saum, 25 Saum AI
N120 - 22 hornet, 45-70
N130, N133, N135 - a bunch off small stuff
N140 - 223 with heavies
N160, N165 - 6.5-284 and others. easier on the throats than N500 series
N330, N340 - a variety of pistols and bullet weights.

Those are some that come to mind off the top of my head. Ever since Covid VV powders have found their way on my shelves more and more. One, they are very consistent lot to lot. Two, accuracy, ES and SD have on average been smaller than many other powders I’ve used in the past. Three, you can get the dang stuff, VV is keeping up pretty dang good. Four, they haven’t followed suit and raised pricing like so many other brands we’ve watched.

My interest is peaked.

Talk to me about N140 for 223 heavies. How does it compare against the other typical powders used, such as LeverEvolution or 8208XBR ?

Thanks
Works very well! But in some cases N-540 MAY be a better choice:
