VihtaVuori Powder Discussion

I am just looking for the 2750-2800fps area with the ARC in my 26" bolt gun with 110 ATips. Maybe I'll pic up a pound of N540 and try it.
I am getting average 2750 fps with 110A tip using Leverevolution 26 in barrel, gas gun. FWIW.
To all a good day.

Did a bit more search and study. I shot a bit of 135 years ago, and it kind of dried up, pre internet.
VV135 looks pretty versatile across the board for 204/223 through 6BR. I didn’t see any negative on it like I do on 133.
What are you using N-135 in?

Benchrest buddy gave me some of his 135 “siftings” large kernels, yes he sifted it doing some testing. I used some in my 6BR and it is a bit slow compared to a partial jug.
.308 Winchester in M1-A's.

I use N540 in a heavy 28" 8 twist Bartlein, 223 wylde bolt gun with 75g ELDMs @ 3000fps and 1/4-1/2 MOA at 100 yards. Ran it out to 1K on steel and it does very well.

Velocity tops out at 3085fps in this particular combo with Lapua brass, but decided to back off down to 3K since we see triple digit summer's, and just be a little easier on the brass.

Ringo,

Small sample in one rifle, but...

My 257 Roberts Ackley really likes N560 with 100 Ballistic Tips at about 55gr @3300fps. Absolute Max in my rifle. 80*

I got it as a RL26 replacement & haven't yet tried it everywhere that RL26 shines, but it comes close in the 257 Roberts Ackley. With 100gr Sierra Spt, 55gr of RL26 beat it by about 60fps with larger groups while getting very close to max pressure. 60*

In the same rifle with 100gr Sierras again, RL23 pressured out at 53.5 to 54gr @3280 to 3320fps with pretty small groups. 65*

560 is Not temp stable.
It is a good powder and competes with 22 ,23.
How stable, I use it in the N.E. and never had a issue. Get above 85* down S. You may not run it near max pressure.
