Varmint Rifle Showcase

We just drive around with spot light in the roof mount of the Ute. Plus u have the Mrs in the passenger seat with a hand held thermal to find the buggers . Then spin the light around and send lead .

Man! That sounds awesome!
Yeah it's awesome all of the roos we shoot go to commercial pet meat processors. We need to be licenced buy parks and wildlife for humane destruction and processing to do this . We are the only country in the world that harvest and export our national emblem . We get padded by the kilo . So that nite there was 41 roos having by midnite we only started at 8pm. So 4hrs of shooting for 1200kgs so not a bad nite . Plus we even take animals that don't make market grade aswell. What we call NCV no commercial value . That's for all livestock we even take horses or as a few of us call them Hay Burning Hotrods.

That’s crazy lot of shooting for 4 hours if I am ever somewhere with kangaroos I’d like to try that.

The shooting is easy but it's the gutting and the rest of it that takes time . Depending on the weather ,nights and what ever else is happening around the place it determines how many you get . We go away a lot as we have our own mobile chiller setup on a trailer. Can't legally hold 2.5ton of meat in the chiller.

This rifle is a true classic. Model 70 Winchester in 220Swift. The barrel is a Lilja and the stock is a McMillan marksman. My dad bought it new when he got out of the Navy in 1947. I think this is barrel number 8.
"⁷Hotshot"
Barrels last longer, if kept around 3600 or 3700 fps. It's hard to stay within the speed limit. Those vapor trails are pieces of the barrel and bullets ole well. If anything left of the barrel and long enough make it a 22 cheetah, or a 22-6mm. I have heard new meaning to Vapor trails with these Wildcats about 700 rounds is max, use those barrels for
boat anchors. I have shot 22-250's and 220 swifty's at a little hotly.
I was thinking about doing a 220 swift as a Ackley improved, so tempting. I would just get it setup and cruising and the barrel would be Columbus, history. I may do Ackley improved on the swift case and make it a 24 caliber or 6 mm. I guess thats what brought the
22-6mm mashburn to being born .
I wonder how much a 22-6mm barrel about 26 inches long , made out of titanium. I guess I would be broke and cussed back out the door of the gunsmiths shop. Oh gosh men and their toys.
"TOO OLD TOO SOON", TOO SMART TOO LATE. I am a thinking, Buck
