Makes me chuckle reading this thread, are you all surprised at the price increases when fuel is almost double and when was the last time you paid attention to the price of a pound of bacon? Instead of being pleased that the product is available we rather feel the need to bash the manufacturer selling at MSRP. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we will not see primers for $40 a brick nor premium powder for $200 an 8 pounder going forward, either pay the piper or hang up them rifles.

I almost fell on my back when I bought bacon a couple days ago, im at the point now where i don't really care anymore. If i want to eat it, drink it or shoot it I don't even look at the price anymore, yes ill shoot less but prices wont be changing in this "new" world we find ourselves in

Saw it for sale in billings the other day for $32/lb. I have plenty so I left it for the next guy, I did get 2 pounds of h1000 at that price and a pound of unique for $24.

Prices WILL come down some at some point assuming there's no more magical planned-demics.

With what people are willing to pay for ammo/components, there will be production to gobble up those dollars. And at some point, the product will start to sit on the shelf... and prices will have to become competitive again.

Most powder around here is in the 45-50$ range also. I don't know why the powder I found was so cheap, I am guessing it was a mistake, probably won't see it at that price again but if I do!

Problem is the entire worlds shooter are waiting be be served their powders and primers and bullets to a lessor extend , USA, UK/EU, AUS, NZ, RSA, CAN to name some. Then we have the Russia story where every Euro country now wants to get armed again so the "supply chain" is going to stay under pressure. Add the shipping costs around the world (we import allot of stuff from the UK and bringing a container in from there went op close to 500% the last 2 years) and that powder price cant really go down all that much.

My LGS has 3 8lb jugs of varget. 499.99 each. I passed. I did pick up primers at $9 per 100.

This probably won’t be too popular, but buy it when it’s available, at the asking price. If it’s not worth it to you, don’t buy it. Simple as that. Complaining about the price does no one any good.

We here in the U.S.A. live in a capitalist country, the best country in the world as far as I’m concerned. Anyone can ask whatever they want for anything. The decision to buy it or not is one of the many freedoms we enjoy. Be thankful we are allowed to own firearms, let alone reload ammunition for them. Others are not so lucky.

If components are on the shelf now, they got made and through the system before the recent surges in fuel and metal prices. Plus, every single item of manufacture and delivery arrives on diesel, and the worst predictions get close to $10 gal before the end of the year. European prices are already near $9.00/gallon.

I really wish it wasn't so, but I think the new normal hasn't even arrived yet.

Hope this doesn't come off as trying to start a hostile discussion, but I used my trusty math assistant and the 8 pound jug comes out to $35.88 a pound, not bad but not great.

$14 and change under the op's complaint thread price. If I needed it that would be a not so great price but would keep me shooting compared to higher prices posted.

We better get used to $50+ lb. powder and $100/brick primers. I don't see it going down even when/if supply ever gets back to normal.

It likely will get worse before it gets better, if it gets better.

Oh really?…..I bought 2 of them this April ! As a matter of business I bought quite a bit of powder in April,….. March,…February,……January… etc etc etc………

“Recently” This was April’s purchases of powder , table would have broke if I put all the bullets on it but I’ll post Mays powder purchases for ya once June gets here….. you never know I might find more Varget!…
