100% spot on ^^I for one am not going to stop shooting because of price increases in components.
Are you going to stop driving because of the gasoline prices?
Are you going to stop eating because of the food prices?
Yes you will. You may not stop at the current price, but there absolutely is a price which you WILL STOP. I guarantee it!I for one am not going to stop shooting because of price increases in components.

The problem is, none of the little guys have had much product if any at all to sell. So how does a manufacturer sell direct , before it stocks the stores?it's priced that way so they don't undercut their retailers/distributers
The real question is...The problem is, none of the little guys have had much product if any at all to sell. So how does a manufacturer sell direct , before it stocks the stores?
I’m not crazy about the prices either but I like to shoot so I buy what I need including gas just not as much as I use to. See ya at DCI don't know what the new price is or where it will be a year from now but I am still buying stuff when I can get it. I want to keep shooting and will continue to buy components if it keeps me doing what I love doing. I will be going to Deep Creek a few times this summer and will be paying over $5.00 a gallon for fuel. I don't like that either but it certainly wont stop me.
The little guys will always be at a disadvantage during any shortage of any product as they can't order direct from the supplier because lack of volume/capital. They have to buy in much smaller quantities from a distributer. Hodgdon is probably selling off smaller than full pallet amounts rather than shipping them as the shipping costs are practically the same whether a half pallet or full pallet. And we all know that when ordering powder for ourselves (pre shortage) we might as well order the maximum amount allowed under the same hazmat/shipping charge to lower the cost per pound by spreading it out as much as possible. The problem is, none of the little guys have had much product if any at all to sell. It's called MSRP, and that's what Hogdon is doing....Selling at MSRP.The real question is...
How does Powder Valley, Mid-south sell it cheaper than Hodgdon direct??
Once again, Hodgdon doesn't want to under cut their big volume purchasers. They could sell it cheaper than PV or MidSouth if they wanted to. The last thing any supplier wants to do is to fiddle around selling small quantities, that's the distributers business model. The supplier wants to sell a tractor trailer load to one buyer for one purchase order. The real question is...

What if I told you that I know of Hodgson direct dealers that haven't hand hodgdon powder in 6 months. Direct dealers not going through distributors? High volume Hodgdon direct dealers! The little guys will always be at a disadvantage during any shortage of any product as they can't order direct from the supplier because lack of volume/capital.
