Maybe not, but I think we'll get a lot closer than people think once this present insanity passes. The days of 30.00 for a lb of powder and 40.00 per 1000 primers is over, we will never see those prices again!

Unfortunately some will when the money’s gone.I for one am not going to stop shooting because of price increases in components.
Are you going to stop driving because of the gasoline prices?
Are you going to stop eating because of the food prices?
It can't go down. The covid stimuli rounds under both Trump but especially Biteme to the tune of about 8 trillion sealed the deal. It has effectively devalued the dollar so powder mills and sellers, facing rising delivery and ingredient prices, not to mention wages, are going to adjust their prices and it won't come down short of a major, major recession where demand shrinks precipitously. We better get used to $50+ lb. powder and $100/brick primers. I don't see it going down even when/if supply ever gets back to normal.
well they are the owner, and cannot under price their distribution network. its how business works. what you can take from the price is that it is the CURRENT MSRP OF VARGET...like it or notWOW, Hodgdons now has Varget for ”Sale” directly at $49.99 per pound. You can pick it up on their website. For me, my kiester hurts too much from being taken advantage of at that price. No reason on God’s Green Earth for that kind of pricing other than the fact that they can get away with it.
There are other powders that seem to work. The way to see lower prices is to refuse to jump at sucker bait pricing.
Forum Boss: Hodgdon Powder is now SOLD OUT at Hodgdon.com. The $49.99 price was cheaper than most other sellers.
Too bad that Hodgdon doesn't fulfill its roll as a wholesaler and just ship the powders to their retailers. Competing with them even at MSRP in this kind of a market just doesn't seem to be good business relations imo.well they are the owner, and cannot under price their distribution network. its how business works. what you can take from the price is that it is the CURRENT MSRP OF VARGET...like it or not
you are entitled to your opinion, yours and mine do not count in this case. they are doing itToo bad that Hodgdon doesn't fulfill its roll as a wholesaler and just ship the powders to their retailers. I'll never let the opinion that my opninon doesn't count keep me from having one. Kinda like someone telling me "my vote doesn't count", sure it does in a fair and honest election.you are entitled to your opinion, yours and mine do not count in this case. they are doing it
There’s so many things I wanna say to a post like this but sometimes it’s best to just keep scrolling!…

an opinion is just that, a vote is COUNTED......NO THEY ARE NOT THE SAMEI'll never let the opinion that my opninon doesn't count keep me from having one. Kinda like someone telling me "my vote doesn't count", sure it does in a fair and honest election.
You mean if I and thousands others stop buying due to our opinion we don't count?an opinion is just that, a vote is COUNTED......NO THEY ARE NOT THE SAME

100% Spot on Reed!… good for you!… I hope you have many many more years of enjoyable shooting ahead of you!…. Love your post!… my sentiments to a T!…I recently paid $42.99 for a lb. of IMR8208XBR and H4198 from a local dealer who had "found" a small amount. Another local shop had some 205M's for 129.99/1,000 (thankfully, I didn't need them). Here's my take: I'm 78 years old, have three of the finest custom-made benchrest rifles in the world, and I'm going to shoot them while I can still appreciate it. I don't like the price, I don't like the reasons, and damn the politicians -- but I'm going to shoot.
