USPS Complaint Thread

Increased cost and slower service? This will likely take care of their increasing volumes. I used to use the USPS quite often. A book of stamps lasts more than a year now.

The "slower" delivery and reduced window time is a setup for the 2022 election. The HR1 bill that would allow Washington to control state elections, you know the one's where governors changed election laws without legislation. Some of the state's democrat governors allowed state constitutional law to be broken. HR1 is the means to fund and legalize the stealing of elections. It is happening again, Iowa elected a republican to the house, a close recount, court certified win. Nancy wants the house committee(6 dems-3repubs) to pick the winner. Disenfranchising 800,000 Iowa voters. This is how property, free speech, gun ownership rights will be lost, stolen elections.
If they could not steal they would never win

Put in a small order to Natchez. On check out you
have an option for "Rapid Post" . Fedex picks it up
and then hands it off to USPS. But for $3 dollars more
you can just leave it with Fedex and have it at your
house 5 days sooner !! Insanity, I tell ya'......

Seeing as how I worked 34 years for the P.O., I'm going to wait and see what happens after Biden gets rid of the current Postmaster General. Probably nothing! I have a very close friend currently working for the P.O. and he says it's crazy the way their work hours are shifted around and how much mail they are allowed to deliver since the 'new' Postmaster General took over. The friend also said the amount of mail in the system,(that he can see) is unreal. I agree mail delivery has always been spotty. But, never as bad as it's been lately. When the new boss man comes in and makes changes that only make matters worse, what can you do?

I just placed my order for my Colorado hunting/fishing licenses for 2021. I always just have them mailed to me. There was a very specific statement on the CPW license checkout that has never been there before. They said:

Expect it to take up to 20 BUSINESS days to receive your license by USPS mail. If you need it for a season before then, have a licensing agent print it for you.

Let's hear your plan for new delivery service.
Investigate why Amazon can make their delivery projections at a very high success rate- even during China-virus while the USPS success rate continues to drop off the cliff. 160 years ago the Pony Express delivery time was faster. I have relatives who work for and some retired from USPS, so I have a clue of what is going on. Let us not forget much of the USPS is union and they sympathize with the wrong political party if you want efficiency and accountability.

Update on my Tritronics order coming from MS. It is now 12 days since USPS received the parcel from my supplier. Every couple hours I run the tracking number for an update- Keeps saying the same damn thing, only they keep changing the date of the update (????). It sat for 4 days in the Jackson facility, currently it is "in transit" for the last 5 days and either no one can be bothered to scan it received (somewhere at least) or someone needed a $250 dog collar for free. Had I ordered from Amazon I would have had it the same week.....but I tried to do the RIGHT thing and buy from a small retailer instead of giving money to a corrupt billionaire hell bent on destroying America.

I recently sold 3 scopes, the funds for all three arrived in a very timely manner. I mailed the scopes to Ohio, Illinois and Arizona via priority mail, they arrived in three business days or less, mailed from Central Washington. I also ordered an item from L.E. Wilson Monday AM received it Wednesday at noon, Wilson is about 70 miles away. Monday I ordered a trigger from Jard in Iowa, it will arrive today. I couldn't ask for or expect better service. Privatization is not the answer, that will only cut the wages of employees, they will be like the workers at Amazon or Wal-Mart, dependent on food stamps and Medicaid to survive. Takers from the economy, not contributors. Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in the U.S. and workers depend on government programs to survive, while the family owners (5 people) have more money than 40% of the population.

On the other hand, you can't take employees that have a 20 year wealth of knowledge in a particular occupation and offer them a + 40 year pension payout only to take employment away from those who really need it. That system was destined to fail. All one has to do is look at the simple math to see it is unsustainable.

I saw a news clip on TV the other day stating that upcoming "changes" to the USPS would mean slower delivery and shorter hours the PO's would be open. Sounds like a good way to deal with increase in volume everyone says they have..

A receipt from the PO states"
"USPS is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience." ;)
I wonder how firearms related items will be 're-classified' ?

Usps doesn't own airplanes. They contract air mail. Amazon owns about 80 or so planes. UPS and FedEx don't care or want to deliver letter mail because it's been a losing business venture for 25 years. Best thing usps could do is transition to two days of letter mail delivery per week for residential addresses. Then get serious about parcel delivery.

In a story published on 18 March 2021 CNBC wrote (emphasis added):

"Walmart announced Thursday it will give 425,000 employees a raise, a move that will increase its average pay to above $15 an hour.

The discounter is the country’s largest private employer with a U.S. workforce of 1.5 million people. Its minimum starting wage will remain $11 an hour. Starting March 13, the company said it will pay store workers who stock shelves or support its e-commerce business $13 to $19 an hour, depending on their role and store location."

Bear in mind the federal minimum wage is $7.25. Even assuming (incorrectly) that every person working on the floor of a Walmart makes only $11 per hour , are you saying they all depend on government programs to survive, whereas if they made $15 they'd be walking in tall cotton?

No , I'm saying many of the workers depend on Food stamps and Medicare, many positions are only part time. Many other employers do the same thing, using the government programs instead of providing any benefits. Many also will not 'lay off' or terminate a less productive worker, instead they just cut the workers number of hours. Wal-Mart is the largest importer and retailer of Chinese products. Wage earners are the ones that drive the economy, The GDP is about 80% retail sales. Bill Gates may eat 'higher on the hog', but he doesn't eat more than us. The country's well being depends on everyone being able to contribute to the economy and tax base. If they don't earn it, they can't invest or save it. The U.S. has a higher rate of poverty than other developed counties, I don't think we have more lazy people. I can remember when retail clerks made a 'family wage'. I bought my clothes from the same man (not the store owner) for over 30 years.

Do you suppose forcing Walmart, Amazon et al to pay a "family wage" will eliminate or even just decrease poverty in the US?

Like unions.
If they don't earn it, they can't invest or save it.
You don't think stimulus money is being used for investing or savings? Why did seasoned citizens get stimulus money when pensions and SS checks kept coming? Those who have observed the way gov't works know the fed is going to ask for it back in spades and soon.
I don't think we have more lazy people.
I KNOW we have more lazy people, especially the under 40 crowd. I see it every day. The China virus has worsened the problem exponentially. Why do you think the guaranteed income policy talk has so much support. I don't believe that generation and younger will be able to handle the hardships we are about to face.

I was thinking of the time before the Covid -19 virus. I listen to the economist that study how things work and have statistics to back them up. How do you "know" that we have more lazy people? I would like to see the numbers. I live in a 'college town' the young people I meet are far from lazy, they are goal oriented and motivated to succeed. I've hired many young people to help on the ranch, inexperienced yes, lazy, no way. I worked 40 years in the heavy construction industry, didn't encounter that many lazy people, and they didn't last. Some may be thought to be lazy when they just aren't proficient, or don't have the aptitude or knowledge of the work.
