Issues with Damaged Boxes at Post Office

If you are counting on that box and it's peel and stick label only, You have much to learn. I used to ship a lot of pkgs a long time ago. You tape all around that box and you use copius amounts of bubble wrap. Also they tell you not to tape over the label, Don't listen to them and make sure the label is covered all the way in clear packaging tape. If not, The label will get torn and then it's lost.

And lastly, Package insurance is a scam, They do their best to not pay a claim.
I do that. I wrap every customers package as if I would want it wrapped and packaged for myself
---------------------------------------Do unto others
When they say "don't tape over the label"........... I think they mean with brown tape
I tape fully over every label with clear to make sure the addresses stay in tact.
I am referring to customers sending ........ME
packages
Take the time to ensure your item gets to ME, that's all.

And thanks for the heads up on the insurance aspect, I am finding this out.

One thing I can recommend to you is, Use the Flat rate padded envelopes, They are free and ship for around the same price, They are very durable, Try tearing one by hand. Still wrap the contents in bubble wrap and secure the label and there is much less chance of happening what happened to your package. It may cost slightly more for the padded envelope shipping, But it's not much.

Copy, thanks!

And yes, You are right, They mean not to use that brown packaging tape over the label. But most people may not get it. I had a postal clerk tell me once I wasn't supposed to tape over the label, She obviously didn't have a clue. I continued to tape over the label. I learned some very hard lessons about shipping in the early days.

One of them I learned twice. The recipients both times on separate occasions received an empty box that had an expensive barrel in it when I shipped them. Needless to say I wised up pretty quick after having to refund those poor folks.

My motto was, Tape and bubble wrap is cheap, Lost and damaged Packages are expensive.
