Two more BRXs

loving my 6BRX , mine is running bang on 3000fps with 105gr hybrids and 32.4gr of 2208/varget in a 30 inch 1:7.5 twist krieger ..cant wait for ya pics
Have been shooting the 105 Hybrids for a year now. First time out to 800 yards had a one third MOA. Using 1:8 Krieger, 30", Varget, BR4s, unturned Lapua. Building same in 6BRX next.

Not trying to be a W.A., just curious if you had firing pin turned down; Also, I noticed in a recent batch of Lapua 6br brass that the pockets were tight; called CCI (BR4) and that is what they confirmed. I never uniform Lapua but noticed lately deformations in fired primers.

Did not do anything to firing pin, I did have some problems until I got about 150 rounds on it, long story.

I hear ya dude. This rifle is going to Phoenix in Feb. Elvin has a few other reamers up his sleeve and good things should come out of the facility this Spring as the tactical/long range games start to heat up. He and I will try and get those Sierra 110s to shoot; there’s enough barrels and bullets between the group of us to prove it either way.

What type of tactical game do you guys shoot???

My buddy and I just built matching BRX repeaters(26" bruxs, 1-8 and 1-7.5) with rem700s bedded in the new magpul hunter stock. Mine is the 1-8.

Tested Varget from 32.2 up to 33.1 in a breezy 35 degrees. They shoot very very nice. Thanks to all of you for your guidance.

At first glance, there appears to be a huge difference in speed between the two. His 7.5 is running 108s at 2990ish with the same load as I only get 2913ish.

We are running very different lots of powder...mine new, his quite old. We were running different magneto speeds. Next test opportunity we are going to switch a few things around. For now we are smiling at the crazy accuracy of these two guns.

I know....it aint no good without pics...maybe a little latter....LOL

Again, thank you all for the knowledge you impart on us every day.

Feed issues?

My smith is an avid br shooter and a machinist. He has done a .22br and 6br for me. He turns down the firing pin and bushes it in a way that the pin remains always supported. This br mod prevents stuck and broken deprimer pins and accommodates Lapua 6br brass. Otherwise, as mentioned in other posts, several major companies carry the small pins. I am wondering if the reason the issue went away is that the flash holes enlarged after repeated deprimes? dunno.

I don't think so, I had a high pressure issue and was not able to get the amount of powder to shoot like others were, , I could only run about 31gr of varget, as it the barrel broke in it eventually took 33.1 and is good now, I called krieger they said that it probably had some burrs in the barrel.

Makes sense. Have Krieger 8 twist in .243 6br 31", gonna be replaced with same...almost shot out already. Great cut rifled barrel
