6mm 110 SMK twist info (sort of)

I did a "drop test" from 100 to 1000yds with the 110-SMK from an 8-twist.
Here are those ballistic particulars:

3014-fps (average with a LabRadar)
23.5-MOA up from 100yd zero to bullseye @ 1000
998.7 yards (actual/measured distance)
52-F
1325'
30.25-in.hg
31% humidity
Scope Ht: 1.905"
8-twist Benchmark at 31"

Will be shooting them in a 7.5-twist next time I test them, fallowed by a 7-twist (when the barrel comes in).

@BoydAllen -
It, the 110-SMK, and the Nosler 105-RFD are the two highest BC 6mm/243 bullets I have ever shot/tested to date (both unmodified in factory trim as they come boxed from the mfg). Most the 105-class bullets end up in the .500 to .575-G1BC area, where these two are .620-ish (and likely more yet from faster twist barrels).

It's great to be in the golden age of 6MM bullets where a 6MM can compete in the wind against 6.5's and mid size 7's!

I'm waiting with baited breath for a 120-125 6mm to hit the scene at a price point of $25/100.....I'm delusional, I know.

I tried them in my 1-7 twist 6XC seated at 2.790. I have a .160 FB. I was .086 off touch and did not get them to shoot too well at 200 yards for me. I would like to try seated out. but the scope if off the rifle now and going to rebarrel to 6.5 creed. So I don't know if I will get the itch to re try them or not. I know 115 VLD shoot great from the rifle. But I haven't seen too many post of them shooting great.

Had a customer send me a 5 shot .102" group @100 yards from his 6 creed 7.0 tw Mullerworks barrel I did for him on a Kelbly Tactical Atlas, timney Calvin Elite, and my round .880" PR brake. He put a J Allen Chassis and Vortex AMG on it. 42.6 gr of H4350 is pushing the 110 sierra at 3118 fps, using the new Lapua brass. He's .075-.080 off the lands. Any closer and they strung horizontally. Hes gotten 1st & 5th place in the last 2 weeks at some PRS matches. That 110 going that fast is a laserbeam with no recoil.

I tried them in a 6x47L Krieger 1 in 7.5" 30" long.. (500' elevation)... But never got them to shoot real well. I tried .050" off, but no more... maybe I will give them another chance.

I'm shooting the 105 Hybrids at 3150fps and it is a laser beam but after about 500 rounds I have eroded almost .085"... yikes!

.085" @500 rounds sounds like a LOT of steel that is soft. Thats more than the 28 noslers I have been building erode in the throat. They are generally .010 per 100 rounds sending a 195 berger at 3100+ fps.

My 6x47L Imp moves about .004" per 100. RL16 at 3080fps.
I'll have to check but if I recall I'm slightly in the lands with the 110 and it holds around a half moa waterline at 1K. Make the right wind call and its 10's and X's on an F Open target.

Pat, is RL 17 your powder?

I have 245 110s if anyone is interested. They shoot just ok in my 8 twist, nothing under an inch for 5 shots at 200yds.
