Tuners - what you're missing

I'm interested in what we are looking for in the testing of a tuner. I shot a series yesterday at 100 yds. I can incorporate the targets later. I could notice almost a circular pattern of the groups of three going clockwise as I turned the tuner outward 1/8ths of a turn. Some of these groups were smaller. Some of the groups while small, were not the smallest but had significantly less vertical. What should I be looking for? Do I want the one that is closest to the POA? They would rotate away from the point of aim.
Which tuner were you using. That 1/8 of a turn might be too much for some brands.
What I try for is three or more groups with the same vertical distance from my aiming point. If I don’t get that - I give the tuner a full turn and start all over again.

Bucky Tuner. The instructions call for a 1//8 turn.

You have several groups that are nearly right use 1/16 turn .. 3/rd group top lot,1st bottom lot
With the last four shots I had I selected the first two groups on the second page and moved between them to where I have marked an X and shot them. That's the last group on the second page. Am I correct in thinking that I'm trying to select the smallest group with the least vertical?

I like the vertical location (node) of the last two on the first page and the first on the second page. I would test either side of the last one on the first page.

I strongly recommend moving my tuner only one mark at a time. There are 32 marks. This is all covered at least once or twice in this previously very good and informative thread, on just this subject. Fwiw.

It's hard to do that because temps are always changing and the wind blowing. The perfect setting today, at any distance may or may not be just right tomorrow. Really no different than without a tuner in that regard though. If anything, it'll stay in tune better with a tuner vs without. Moving a tuner is no different than changing the load for different conditions and/or distance.
Purely hypothetical, the rifles tune is mostly effected by temp. Where does the concern of barrel warm up and ambient temp converge? I would think both effect the tune, and how would you use the tuner to control these during a match?

I dump a round that has cooked in the chamber for more than a short amount of time, so it's been a non issue for me.
