There Goes Our No Tax on Suppressors

Another video update:

I posted this on a couple other forums, but I am seeing these temper tantrums on many platforms.

Why is it that we sit around and bitch and complain about the gun grabbers killing us using the "death by a thousand cuts" tactic, but we won't use that tactic against them?

Did I want the HPA and SHORT language in the bill? Hell yeah I did. Am I mad about it? Yes. Am I going to go nuclear and make it easier for Dems to win back the House in the mid-terms because I only got a little bit of it? No. I am going to chalk this up as a small victory and push my elected reps to back the lawsuits that should be filed now that the tax is $0.

For context, the NFA was passed in 1934. In 1937 a suit made it up to the Supreme Court that challenged the NFA as unconstitutional. The court ruled that it wasn't unconstitutional as it wasn't a registration or regulation, it was a tax. If we end up with a $0 tax, we can now challenge that ruling and push to have them removed.

Our work isn't done, but these guys who want the "all or nothing" approach are the reason we continue to get our asses kicked on these issues. Our opponents know how to fight these battles. We should learn too.

That was very well said. I can’t comment much on any of this because I don’t know the laws. I do appreciate posts like yours to bring us up to speed.

Announced on News today that elimination of Suppressor and SBR Tax Stamp has been restored and passed in the BBB.

It sounds like GOA is going to file a lawsuit to remove suppressors from the NFA registration requirement.

Or you will get suppressors discounted by more than 200$, to maintain sales/manufacturing. Of course reliable rumours of the tax stamp requirement being dropped would kill sales until the change.
