My youngest son asked me what I thought the most accurate cartridge was. Having loaded and shot most everything from .17's to 300 Holland Holland's I had no hesitation answering "the triple duce" 222! This is a cartridge that either by design or by luck has the perfect case proportion enableing it to be king of the dime at 100 and quarter at 200. Able to stabilize 45 to 62 grain bullets and turn crows into fog at 300...what more can a shooter ask for? Inexpensive to load or shoot right out of the box it's still the most accurate of the .224 calibers. Try as they may gun makers have been chasing the dream of a better .224 only to fall short of the king "triple duce". PS: Much to my happyness the inovators at Savage recently came out with the model 25 in two different models chambered in .222....... what a great cartridge! It'll let a novice shooter compete with the big boys anytime!
