Tactical/Target Rifle w/WOOD

Dark Cherry - base coat of Bright Red, Med Brown and Black. Followed by a coat of Copper (1:1 Bright Red/Brown)

Id probably layer this with more Brown for a muted "classic" look, or hit it with straight Red as I sanded up through the grits to get more pop.

1st Coat: flat and boring

That's looking good.
It's cool watching your color choices and ideas come to light.
I posted these pictures on Facebook but haven't shared them here of the Firey Cerus.20250826_182746.jpg20250826_182710.jpg20250828_123116.jpg

I love seeing what you do with colors... I don't have the vision and play it way to safe!

I agree!!

I am a wood working hack, but I love seeing the skilled folks work wood. Wife's grandfather was one of those. He learned from folks in the piano factory he worked at (he sharpened all the saw blades).

Scrambled to get this one together for an NRL Hunter match on the 20th. It only has two sealer coats of oil, nothing sanded in. Ill have to make it pretty when I get back.
