Tack Driver 5

The time is drawing near for the match that started it all! Tack Driver 5 has an extensive list of sponsors and is still full with 120 of some of the best shooters in the Nation set to compete! Still have 10-15 people on the waiting list to get in this event. Shirts are ordered and we are eagerly awaiting your arrival! I will start a new thread once we start the match with live results. Who will win this year’s event? Will it be a long range shooter like Sam Hall, Seth Wooten or Tom Mousel? Or will it be a score shooter like Dewey Hancock, Wayne France, Joe Duke, Wes Johnson, Shannon Robinson or Dean Breeden? How about a group shooter like Jeff Peinhardt, Wayne Campbell, Barr Sauter, Mike Conry or Jeff Summers? It could also be a groundhog person like Jeremiah Keefe? Don’t count out George Cabrera or Roy (I have this won) Hunter. The fact remains every shot makes someone happy, just hope it’s your own shot that makes you happy. See you all soon and tell me who you pick as the winner of Tack Driver 5!

My bets on any one of the top notch Short Range Benchrest Shooters, particularly Group Shooters. It has been my observation that the predominantly Group Shooters do better at Score than the predominantly Score Shooters do at Group.
A new name in attendance, Mike Conry, definitely has the shooting style to stay high in the Group Portion. But then, so do the others mentioned, as well as a host of others.

Truth is, there will be so many top competitors in attendance that predicting the final standings is an exercise in futility. Orangeburg is a place where if all the chips fall in line, I can think of any one of dozens of shooters who could win it.

But, on the same note, Orangeburg is also a place where mistakes can be compounded to such a degree that even the best can write the whole thing off as a rather humbling experience.

I will be more than glad to place my bet on Sunday afternoon when the Range Officer says Cease Fire after the last match. ;)

63 days, 22 hours, and 3 minutes. But who is counting?
Those short range group shooters have fairly well ruled the match to date so hard to bet against them. Mike Conry certainly has the skills to be in the fight.
No matter how it goes, it will be a great match.
And as usual, Orangeburg will extract its price somewhere along the way.
