Tack Driver 5

I have been asked so here is a copy of the rules. I will also change the practice times for TD 5 and allow practice on Thursday afternoon.
That’s a great idea.

Also, (just a suggestion), announce for shooters to get with their Bench Partners and practice on the bench they will be shooting on. We had a couple of shooters setting up on our Bench, and just about staying.

You really do not want to be seen as rude by suggesting that who ever left their equipment on the bench needs to remove it so another shooter can shoot. Making it policy would ease things.
Shooters need to come to the Bench with a load, shoot, and let the next shooter have it, and so on.

There we’re shooters shooting, leaving their equipment on the bench, going back to the loading area to reload their cases, and coming back.

Once you have been to the Tack Driver, you will understand that with 5 shooters on a Bench, and cease fires taking up as much as 45 minutes, bench time becomes a premium, so we all need to be courteous to our fellow competitors.

Jackie, one thing to remember, it’s not just your bench. On Sunday it’s another group’s bench. So there are actually 10 or more shooters who may want to test their setup on each bench.

Dave.

With respect, I disagree. It is difficult enough coordinating bench time among five shooters., much less ten.
Common sense would dictate that when time at the bench is very limited, you practice on the bench you were assigned on the first day.

Perhaps Jim Cline will come up with a policy on this so everybody in attendance will be on the same page.

This is the first I’m hearing of this. I will have a plan for next year’s event that will address these issues and allow MORE time to practice.

Got to go with Jackie on that one. There were 5 on a bench not 10. Your bench is where your flags are.

With our five guys I coordinated to leave my rest and rear bag on the bench. Three of us were practicing off of it. Coordinated with the other two guys that they could shoot off mine or just move it to the side when ready.

With everyone working as well together as possible. Practice time is still tight with the range shooting for an hour and shutting down for an hour for flags. But I’m certain that’s going to change. Jim Cline is dedicated to improving this match any way he can. Increased practice time would be great improvement.

Sorry Bart. You and Jackie are both wrong on this one. That is exactly the problem I saw, people leaving their set up on the bench and not using it. More or less just claiming it. Maybe that is how you do it in a sanctioned match, but this isn’t a sanctioned match, it’s all about having fun. The bottom line is with limited sight in/testing time, I would rather be able to test on a bench I would not be shooting on than not be able to test at all. It’s a matter of common courtesy.

Without listing names, I was told not once, but twice, that “so and so was going to shoot next”, when I set up equipment on a EMPTY bench. I politely removed it after being yelled at both times and there the benches sat, EMPTY. On the other benches where the equipment was set up and not being used, it sat there even after the announcement was made to REMOVE it.

You don’t buy a bench when you pay the entry fee. You buy the opportunity to compete in a match just like every other participant.

If your group isn’t organized well enough to make use of the time allowed for practice and shoot constantly, then don’t tie up the bench unnecessarily.

Just my opinion-Dave.

Can’t ask for more than a match director listening to the competitors and taking action to address their concerns and improve the event!
Constructive criticism is always a positive thing. I do this match for the SHOOTERS and without them, there would be no match! Ask anyone that has attended I ask for feedback and things I can do to make this match better for everyone. Hope to see all 120 of you at Tack Driver 5!

I have asked for a mentally challenge bracket, but yet you dont listen and still put me on Team Texas.
