Thanks, Wes. I won the prestigious quietest award, if nothing else.I see nothing wrong with that pic.
Carry on!!!

It looked like fewer 30br’s this time too.I'd hate to see everyone attending this match end up shooting the same cartridge. The diversity of equipment at this match seems to be waning as time goes by.
It's easy to see that the 6ppc has been dominant this far, but without diversity to me it becomes just another benchrest match.
I have shot a 22ppc both times I have attended and will when I come back. Maybe it's to my detriment, but I love doing things differently.
The .337 was shot with a straight 6BR. I'm very familiar with the devil that shot it.I had a 243AI that was a shooter for about 700 rounds!! You might be thinking of my 6BRDX I have that still shoots great. It looks like no one uses a straight 6br?? The 6br I built for 300 yd clays is a shooter too but seems like everyone at TD wants a little more horse power??
I also like to see the different cartridges shooting head to head. Many different comps start out that way. Remember when MMA was that way many years ago? Then it always morphs into what gives the competitor the best chance to win.I'd hate to see everyone attending this match end up shooting the same cartridge. Rick......Jeremiah Keefe set up the first Mini TD at Anderson Creek, and weI also like to see the different cartridges shooting head to head. Many different comps start out that way. If the stars all align for me next year and I can attend this match, I will be using a wonderfully balanced 17lb. 6ppc I have here.
I think you would get more diversity in cartridges if there was another " Tack Driver " type match set-up at 400 or 500yds......Ideally here in the western Pa. eastern Ohio area.....LOL
Hope to be able to make the trip next year...............

Rick

That’s a great response to what this prestigious match really is.Yes, straight 6BR in the same configuration I have used for the last 10 years or so. And it was shooting head to head against a field of ppc’s, the shooter was not.
Caliber discussions are necessary for sure, but we tend not to analyze the “caliber of the shooters” placing that high over and over in those type of matches.
The ppc and 30BR well driven over a field of flags are still dangerous at 300m, as TD results have proven.
But it is also important to recognize that the best shooters in the world tend to be behind those calibers.
The point I am trying to make is that 300m at Orangeburg stretches a bit the comfort zone for the ppcs/30brs, but they still perform on top because there are quite a bit of them registered, and many of them are shot by great-great shooters.
If you feel you can handle the heat, then go to Orangeburg with a ppc/30BR.
For the rest of us human, I recommend to still lean on the slow twist side of things for accuracy considerations, but give yourself some help by either shooting 80 grain or a 90 grain in 6mm.
Heavier than that I feel it is not necessary and it might slightly hurt your chances in score.
If you decide to follow my recommendations, you can thank me later.

Can we see that target again, and any play by play on what you had to do to shoot it. That was really outstanding at 300.
That’s funny WesI will give you my play by play.
Ready on the left
Ready on the right
Ready on the firing line
Commense fire
Zombie Killer places first round into chamber. He thinks he hits the sighter target. Cant be sure. .. It goes downhill from there.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't tack-driver 5 winner.
I'm hoping to attend next year and "probably" will be shooting a straight 6BR, I could probably shoot a laser pointer and still loseI also like to see the different cartridges shooting head to head. While there are indeed winners at The Tack Driver, there are no “losers”.I'm hoping to attend next year and "probably" will be shooting a straight 6BR, I could probably shoot a laser pointer and still lose![]()

Thank you and can't wait to meet all y'allWhile there are indeed winners at The Tack Driver, there are no “losers”.
A bench / relay sheet on the wall would help that also.I'd like name /bench/relay tags to be given out.
I talk to as many ppl as i can but then do not know their name afterwards. I'm horrible with names.
