So what's this 22 Nosler?

The 22 NOSLER is not a necked down 26 NOSLER case.
The case is shorter than the 6.5x47 LAPUA. Internal volume is less than the 22 BR case.

22 NOSLER brass= .55 cents per piece.
26 NOSLER brass= $2.64 per piece.
NOW THAT MAKES MORE SENSE !:D:D

Nosler makes a fast one, weatherby makes one faster, Nosler responds with a faster one.

It is a case of "mine is bigger".

Of course there are many cool wildcat cartridges out there that can do similar job. Great advantage for a factory round is reamer dies and brass will all match. No brass forming and fire forming needed. No reloading needed if you want to buy the factory rounds.
A cartridge with 22 BR performance in an ar-15 is interesting, and 20 BR performance from an ar-15 would be fantastic.

After seeing the Nosler adverstisment looks like I already have a 22 Nosler.
I just called it something else. Mine is an AR chambered for a 6.8 SPC case necked to .22 with a 30 degree improved shoulder AKA 22 DTI.
I run 75Gr AMax about 3050fps from a 22 inch barrel.

Sounds about like a 223 improved. Great little round

Looking at that drawing it's not a rebated rim so squeezing a .425 case head into a #10? What reason or advantage would be gained by going with it other than using it in an AR platform.

If the drawing is correct, the shoulder and web dimensions are the same as the SPC case. If the Redding shell holder list is correct it's for a .223 size. So based on those numbers I'd guess it's Nosler trying to force folks to buy their brass to get Nosler's version of a .22x6.8 or .22 DTI.

Per ad "Two Steps toTransform Your AR. Swap your upper and change out your mag to turn your standard AR into a 22 Nosler. Delivering 30 percent more energy and 300 more fps than a 5.56 NATO at 500 yards, it's your fastest way to faster. Flat out - lights out."

Pic appears to have a rebated base. FYI
