If more people would join the 21st century and use PayPal, there would be more buyer/seller protection, and just one less step to worry about. Not to mention, its secure and immediate. As far as money orders...why not just take a check?

Forum Boss: If you use PayPal, make sure both buyer and seller comply with PayPal policies which prohibit sales of firearms and many firearm components.

Of course! but not using it for small transactions is rediculous. Whatever small charge on a hundred dollar item isn't worth the fuel to go to the bank!

why should the burden of delivery confirmation be on the sender, instead of the recipient acknowledging their responsibility and the courtesy appropriate in such a transaction? Excusing people for responsibility is why the USA is in a STEEP decline. "Please" and "Thank You" are still magic words. The "ME first" generation is an abomination. Too many wankers get on this site, and plea for consideration based on their "grandson" or "newbie friend" or "first-time shooter" or "urgent need for hunt/match/whatever". Maybe some of those are authentic. Even so, if you're really a stand-up, responsible person, my hunch is that you would NEVER resort to such tactics unless you were willing to pay a premium. Quid pro quo.

Like cockroaches, seems like some forum members scuttle in, grab crumbs, and scuttle away, never contributing, just taking. And those of you who enable that kind of behavior are a BIG part of the problem. Like parents who let their little a-hole kids run wild in the restaurant -- even if it's friggin' Denny's -- while they eat, figuring the restaurant is a form of day care. BS.

Mind your manners. Take people to task. That's how they learn. This is a sport with grown-up responsibilities mandated.

To those of you with whom I've done deals, and you sent the item(s) -- as I have on more than a few occasions -- before you even received the money -- I salute you. Coffee's kicking in; I feel better now. NorCal Mikey, do you ever shoot at the San Leandro range? Did you know they've closed the outdoor portion, which was ideal for 50y (covered) smallbore standing practice? It's under construction, for who knows how long. Sigh...

All over the map, was I.

Paypal is anti-gun, friend. And if more people would join the 19th century, in terms of honor and conduct, Paypal and those other BS escrow services wouldn't be in business. Their business model is based on fundamental distrust. Screw that, and screw the notion -- propagated by the liberalism eroding the USA -- that given choices, people will do the wrong thing. I reject that way of "thinking".

I was totally on board with you about kids needing to meet the belt, and that being a huge amount of our problem today . Screw PayPals anti gun San Fran mentality. It is a great service. What is really anti-gun are these silly paranoids hoarding ammo and price gouging. They have done way more damage and gun gontrol than the evil hippies.

"Hoarding" is a pejorative term. Do Mormon families hoard food, because they have at least a year's worth (and I believe are required to do so)? Some would call it being prepared. As to price gouging, nobody is forcing you or anybody else to buy anything, not in the shooting sports. It's called Caveat Emptor.

If you bought gold at $400, and are selling it now at $1,550 -- is THAT price gouging? Or is it merely what the market will bear?

Nobody owes you anything, friend. If you live in the moment, and never have more than one day's powder and rations, that's totally on you. And if the SHTF, and you find yourself without either, and thus you have to decide whether to pay the price for such things from somebody else who had more foresight, then that's totally on you.

And to characterize those people as hoarders and price gougers means you just might really have views that are left of center. Let the free market reign. Let personal responsibility govern your every action.

And as to "silly paranoids", your name calling isn't going to win you friends among the libertarian set. I grew up in the same town as James Wesley Rawles. He's not silly. As to paranoid, if you think the government is your friend, then you are silly.

If i am buying something, I always notify the seller that the payment is on its way., and promptly on receipt notify the seller that it was received. what could be easier or more respectful to the seller than that, amazes me that some never respond. It seems that a number of the transaction are with the same sellers or buyers, nice to know that you are dealing with someone with a good track record, I have had many items shipped before payment was received. Thanks to those for being so trusting, and in return you can bet that when I tell you it is in the mail, IT is in the mail. Purchased a chambered barrel recently, had it rechambered and shot it this last Saturday, what a barn burner, notified the seller that I was very pleased and glad that i was dealing with someone of integrity.

Well, maybe someone forgot or was too busy to email...happens. But, here is a good one, how about this one...had a forum member that "needed" a stripped lower for a family member, hooked him up at pre-craziness prices and then a few weeks later it showed up on another forum, but one I also haunt, for sell at twice the price I sold it to him for. Needless to say, several others have asked for such favors but because of THIS guy, they didnt get one. I wont sell them on here for the crazy prices, so I will just sit on them till later.

Always one turd in the punchbowl......and what makes it really sad is that I had a pretty good opinion of the guy going into this deal only to be disappointed with what transpired.

Mudcat:
If you wait long enough, all the scum will rise to the surface.

BOhio: As far as the Mormans hording? I don't see it that way. They're stocking up just in case the SHTF.
They're not selling goods at double or triple the going price just to make a buck.

The guy that sells primers for $100.00 a pack just because they're hard to come by at the time? :-X
I know, you don't have to pay that high price but at times it makes me wonder about the seller. Sounds like Karma needs to kick in. ;)

Even though i have not met most all of you guys you all are like family to me. If times are hard and i have extra to sell i will sell it at what i paid for it and eat the cost of shipping. Thats just me and i would never stick it in my fellow members a** and try to break it off.
